Dear all,

Here is the story: few days ago, I got hussle.net. It was available for registration at the regular price. I saw it on a drop list, and it was "catchy" to me. But the main reason I spent $ 13 on it is because the "big brother", hussle.com is marked as Premium Domain, and it is available for $ 18,000. Dynadot, GoDaddy, Afternic, all of them are asking the same price.

So, can someone please explain me why? I am not a native English speaker, it seems hussle it not even a true dictionary word. I just need to understand why net was $ 13 and the .com is $ 18,000

Thank you all for your answers.

Hello and welcome.

The .com is for sale and the price is defined by the owner...

Thank you all for your answers.

once you own a domain, you can slap any price you want on it

doesn't mean it's worth that amount or that somebody will pay that amount for it

imo....

I see ... so, in other words, if I own jsajdgasfgagvfuidsbcjd.com, and I list it @ $ 20,000, I may fool another idiot like me to grab the same .net. And he will probably think, like I did, that it was a bargain.

well, i wouldn't say those werds exactly

but you get the point.

many n00bs and some novices alike, use association to judge value

this is major flaw:
if you think just because Xname sold for X$, or is listed at X$, means that this Xname must have some of that potentiaL, too...then that's a fallacy

such flaws can carry over in the judgement of personas` and advice.

so, watch wat you eat.

Good Luck!

imo....

don't worry

I like the domain

it may be the wrong reason
you bought it for but who knows
the .com may sell one day

and the the .net will be worth
lets say 1800 usd based on that
or 5888 usd

or nothing
you never know

but still I like it ;)

I think you got the point as explained above. For whatever reasons you hand regged, hussle.net is a catchy one for sure.

All the best for this one.

its good you only bought one .net to lean the lesson and not 100's - best to read over the forum before you make more purchases

It is better to rely upon past sales price than on listed price.

Thank you all for expressing your thoughts.

@urlurl - this is what I do for a few weeks. I spend about 2 hours daily on this forum, reading and learning.

I don't have budget for LLLL.com, but I try to grab single world .NET, for the normal reg price. For example,
in the same day I got this hussle.net, I also found and got eingang.net (single German word, with multiple meanings). It was the same price, $13. And I think it is not a bad domain.

i don't have have any .net's - so i would not be able to advise you 100%, keep in mind .net's sell for a fraction of the .com at best.

and stay away from Trade Marked names - never a good idea and a lot of newbies fall trap to them.

@pinkdragon If you're a total newbie, forget .NET and every other TLD too. Stick with .COM and go from there. If there's a .NET available to be reg'd, it's worth nothing. Or in some super rare cases it might be worth something, but it's pretty much impossible for a total newbie to tell the difference.

Welcome aboard :)

Edit: And despite some encouraging comments here, hussle.net is worth absolutely zero.

From the little research i have done so far, as a newbie, it is better to stick with .com for now. When you gain experience, you now try something new. Success!
