Newbie & geo-generic domains

Hi everybody,

I have a few location specific service industry (newly registered plumbing & remodeling) domains that I hope to develop but I am so new to all this... My guess is that these would not be good parking candidates as they have no traffic as yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to monetize something like this? My hope is to provide these local folks some useful information about plumbing and remodeling.

Can you give some examples of the best directories to use? And can you submit your names to directories if you've got adsense on them?

I'm trying to get my mind around how a page for ciityxyzplumbing.com could work... just an alphabetical list of plumbing contractors like yellow page ads with links for those that have web pages and text otherwise?
