Of all the areas on our site, I feel this is one that could really use more attention from myself and other site staff. Matt has volunteered to lend a hand as the moderator of the Design Contests forums, and I have given him the role as leader of this forum.

Please continue to share your suggestions on how to improve the design contests forum. We may be rewriting the rules and guidelines for this forum in the near future.

Sincerely,

RJ

*Long time NP'rs might know Matt better as 'Sy4'. :)

Morning all.

I've just woken up to this and a couple of PM's and about to jump in the shower (to much info, i know :))

I'd like to thank RJ and everyone for your support. We're knocking around a few Ideas and I'll start a thread shortly so we can all contribute to make the contest forum a safe design haven for contents.

I know there are a few concerns already over 1 or 2 posts. I'll be posting in a couple of hours when I've got to work and had a coffee ;)

I got to many ideas for this forum...

yay matt :)

one of the rules should be all designs MUST have feedback :)

Ok.. so maybe ill share a few right now... haha.

1. The title of each contest should include what it is, but use a consistant template... eg:
- [Logo] - [Template]

2. The forums posts should stay put, not moving based on last post, but on date they were posted. It will just add a bit of order in my opinion.

3. The contest holder must pay NPs or money to start a competition. A small fee. This will be no problem to a contest holder who actualy intends on paying for designs!

I have more, but they are three I can think off the top of my head.

Im willing to discuss all of them with anyone who has questions :)

Thanks,
James.

I think the contest holder is silly if he doesnt provide feedback.

Thanks, Matt and RJ!

Just wondering, why do you think a fee should be instituted for new design requests? I don't understand why we would want to keep people from creating new contests and improving the site's popularity. Usually when people have to pay to do something, it's to limit its use.

The main reason behind this thought is to stop Contest Holders from posting contests and tehn vanishing, or selecting from another forum.

The rules clearly state that a Contest Holder MUST pick a NP Design from the thread.

I am the "new" "hard as nails! mod who will hold this up ;)

Nothing has been officially announced or set up yet. It is something we are inviting feedback with.

Hope it clarifys for you ;)
