There's a time that comes when a cctld becomes privatized. It becomes monopolized under one company... which charges absurd fees for .com/.net....

The time has come now. The premium keywords are available. Whose awake at 12:40 CT because here we go ladies and gentleman.

Run Run to safenames and start scanning those premium keywords! The price of registration is NOT CHEAP. The renewal fee is $75 usd a year BUT to register one costs around $300 (includes first 2 years of registration).

It does have quite a delay in registration: 7 days +.

I managed to register poker.ai and it took foerever to be registered.

It seems like you cant register via the main registry site: (nic.com.ai) (ghetto form requires your CREDIT CARD number not very trustworthy )

I guess you can try?!?! However the safenames whois is more accurate then the registry's.

What I don't understand is how some of you can call this a 'promising' ccTLD?! .AI ?!! I had to look up what it stands for FFS, and this is not like 'TV' or 'FM' where people will immediately remember it. How does anyone actually pay money for this?? I mean, Anguilla is not the best target market, and I can't see these domains getting any support in other countries.

So would you pass up on poker.ai if it was available?

I don't know. 'Poker' is maybe one of the few words that actually have value with .ai, it's one of those terms that sell with any extention. But there are maximum a few tens of such words that would have any value with .AI. That is not exactly an interesting extention I'd say with only a handful of valuable domains? Also, poker.ai or sex.ai will have their value, but the purchase price is sky-high, and it won't bring in the same revenue as poker.it or poker.us or so, not even close...
