And when might we be getting a chance to find out whether TWC will be able to take on Weather.mobi...or if not them, someone else?

Sorry to say, but a very negative buzz is growing about the delay of the RFP announcement! Please at least give us some sort of concrete date that you're aiming for...

Neil,

I agree with Dave's sentiment.

Neil, you seem to be an intelligent, busy, pioneering executive, but it appears you are trapped in a bubble.

1.) RFP's HAVE NOT BEEN RELEASED, DELAYED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT REASON.

2.)Your PR firm, Edelman is cold & wishy-washy with respect to the future prospects of MOBI. They have essentially washed their hands of the mTLD. Steven Rubel, a seasoned Edelman representative on his blog MicroPersuasion.com promotes alternate technologies to MOBI.

3.) The mTLD office in England is very friendly, but totally clueless. They are unaware of the basic dotMOBI inquiries.

Neil, please break out of your bubble and confront your detractors. They are winning the day. A major coordinated boycott of MOBI at TRAFFIC and other auctions are being coordinated and will be executed.

Neil, I suggest you utilize your well-written blog for the following:

1.) Release the RFP's now. Set-up immediate timelines for other future MOBI RFP release announcements. Not talking candidly about the mysterious RFP's gives the appearance of fraud, laziness and incompetence.

2.) Neil, most are not motivated by the "average Joe" and his AverageJoe.mobi site. Talk & flaunt to the world more about Fortune 1000 brands using dotMOBI, such as the likes of StateFarm.mobi & ing.mobi. If I managed an insurance agency I'm not motivated to launch my own dotmobi insurance site if JoeInsurance.mobi puts his up. Endusers building dotMOBI sites will make or break the mTLD.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Alexander

I agree. Time for Neil to take his head out of his a*** & sort this mess out.
I believe it is now getting embarrassing. It needs to be sorted amongst other things.
Talking of which, which day is the pinkmeister coming here?
cheers

I haven't heard anything of that... I would imagine it's a childish ploy to get some answers?

A childish ploy that could have severe consequences. Mtld really needs to jump on the ball with these RFP's. I thought that they would have been announced by now.

Yes, and by the way my poll is going, it's seems there are alot more people whom in anonymity, share the same uncertainty about the RFP that I do.

I just get these images of the auctioneer anouncing the first mtld .mobi name and there is stark silence, then a few boos, then more, then people begin to stand and the chant begins .....

Back in the real world, I would imagine that the RFP is not a priority at .mtld and they are not decided internally how it should happen. This silence could mean bad things, or just as easily could mean that they are so busy setting things up and making deals that they have not had any time to talk about it.

The natives surely are getting restless, but remember that Mr Edwards' interview is in the can and should be published very soon -- and isn't it a coincidence that the one source of information we have is being delayed like this.

IMO, they shouldn't be allowed to auction any names until the RFP is decided. For the sake of T.R.A.F.F.I.C.'s integrity, I wouldn't blame them if they were to boycott the extension...

With no follow-through whatsoever on their promises nor excuses for these delays, mtld is really starting to sound like a Ponzi scheme rather than a force to be reckoned with on the mobile web.

It is tough when you have put a lot of money into something and doubts creep in.

Has anyone here heard of Wagglepop? A Ebay seller decided he could do auctions better and started promoting a new site. He had some good ideas and pulled some impressive PR coups, until he launched the site and the software was in no way up to the load.

People had invested a lot of time, and more importantly, hope in his vision, and when it crashed they were very angry. (The site is back online, but is not very popular.)

The doubt started the same way there as here, a few people speaking against it who were not popular for their opinions. We have very little information concerning what is going on at mtld. Only time will tell. Actually I am feeling fairly confident - Mr. Edwards' interview aparently covered most of the issues and will be released soon, and Yelo has found the "DotMobi Advisory Group" :
http://www.namepros.com/dot-mobi/326661-dot-mobi-advisory-group.html
and Think is a member with good things to say about how the extension is progressing. This is a long-term investment, the devices for the world to access the mobile web are not yet on the market to a large extent, so we just gotta wait.

I don`t think that it`s a childish ploy to provoke answers from mTLD. I totaly agree with this post. Also have few really quality names (imho) to reg, but I`ll not purchase them until I don`t see response from mTLD.

I suppose that Mr. Alexander is man who has nr. 1 "dot mobi" portfolio. This is the reason why I belive he has trust worthed informations.

Never crossed my mind initially that Alexander may in fact be Alexander Tesler... Interesting.

Have sent a link for this thread to Vance Hedderel at Mtld and asked him to pass it on to Neil.

I have made the same correlation for months now.

http://www.namepros.com/1692112-post22.html

That was 4 months ago I made that post.

Anyways...I am doubtful mTLD will make any formal statements about the RFP.

It's really sad if it has to come to this for answers to be had. Mtld seems to be showing more and more disregard on a daily basis for it's investors -- US. I believe mtld said they had 18M in total "investment backing"...

Well, how much have we given them with 500,000+ registrations, all those auction sales and RFP fees? When we factor in sunrise, landrush, 2 year regs, and regs today into the equation, I'd venture to say we've given as much as all the "investors" combined.

Is mtld treating their other investors to the same low standards? This is absolutely ridiculous and without excuse.

It would take 2 minutes to write a paragraph on their blog explaining why the RFP is delayed...

edit: Yes, I read that post of yours Labrocca. I actually searched for "scheme", and "Ponzi" after my post to see if there were others out there with my sentiments regarding the matters at hand.
