I recently bought a hosting plan from http://softsyshosting.com for a blog site (http://TehOwn.com) and all I've been expereincing is slow load time for my WordPress and my PHPBB scripts.

I talked to them multiple times and after a million cache clearing/script reinstalls I'm still experincing slow load times for http://TehOwn.com

I submitted tickets and the tickets have been forwarded to their Super Admins/Developers to see what the issue is. Their ASP.NET/MSSQL runs fine, its their MySQL/PHP thats is slow.

It is a shared hosting package but I don't think slow time is warranted either way.

What i'm asking is for people to visit this site and tell me i'm not crazy when I say its slow in loading and if possible offer a possible reason for the slowness so that I may help my host find it.

They have great customer service and the reason I'm with them is b/c of their affordable ASP.NET/MSSQL windows hosting. If things don't get better I'll def be leaving them for something better

Thanks in advance.

Well, they were a bit slow loading for me (cable modem) that is fairly fast. Ping times look fine, but they also don't look like huge oversellers. However, I do prefer PHP/MySQL served on Linux, but that's just me (and you may require ASP.NET/MSSQL). I mean this respectfully, but your blog doesn't seem to have the kind of traffic that would bog down servers (several folks I work with have that type of website). WP has its quirks, but I assume that you've researched/tweaked and checked on any mods to make sure that they are not the culprit?

The blog is 2 days old and your right, theres no traffic at all to warrant such slow loading. I also preffer PHP/MySQL on linux but I did choose this host for ASP.NET/MSSQL assuming MySQL/PHP would run just fine.

I've done complete reinstalls of both WP and phpBB and tested them with no plugins right after install, and still slow loading. I'm convinced now its the MySQL server load as I'am on a T3(or higher) connection and still experincing load problems.

I did all I could, I got multiple opnions, reinstalled and waited, all I can do now is hope their server admins realize its their MySQL/PHP issues and not my internet/cache and fix it. The only reason I didn't jump ship a day after it wasn't fixed was b/c their customer service was very responsive and fast with previous issues and they had good pricing for Windows (very rare)

Thanks for your input.

Ask them to check for slow queries or anything of that nature. I think at this point the evidence points towards server issues, but it never hurts to investigate. A responsive host is a positive thing in this day and age, and their website doesn't strike me as the type that would be apt not to care.

As for the input, not a problem! I work on WP blogs all the time it seems, so I like to try and help out in that area, because I know how it is to get help on these type issues sometimes.

Yes until you do not specify the reason of that you can do nothing.
Anyway only web hosting provider will explain you things

So they fixed it. Here is their response:

There was a misconfiguration with how the secondary subnet was added to the server. We have corrected it now.

Please verify this from your end and get back to us if you have any further queries.

Best regards,

I'm still bitter though. After an entire week of them telling me its something wrong with my end and me insisting that its their end, with me being right, I'd expect an apology... =(

Or at least a friendly gesture of here's a credit for a month of hosting.

Yeap that would be great. The fault is on their side.
