Why Name.com scaring off the buyers!?

Check the renewal price (set by registrar) for a .COM domain. Since when did this happen?

Is there any representatives of Name.com here in Namepros? If yes, please tag them.

Probably just a mistake on their part. It's an aftermarket domain.

Check if the mistake is there for other aftermarket domains too.

Yes, I have check many, n all aftermarket names have this kind of Renewal prices.

They showing Renewal Price as much as the listed price n saying it as "premium".

I hope this will be resolved as earliest. โœŒ๐Ÿผ

So it's probably their renewal tag being a new feature and they messed up by not having set up the proper conditions yet. I'd imagine it being resolved soon enough.

There are several, with @name.com the most active (but, Last seen: Jun 27, 2024).

Maybe you can send a DM, so that they'll get an email notification.

true

either way they have high prices on avg so nobody should go there and I'd not be surprised if they show crazy numbers

I observed this bug several weeks ago, but forget to do anything about it, as I had doubts they would care.

That's a great point. A domain's renewal cost is a parameter that should not be second-guessed. Especially for .com domains that (so far) have not been slapped with "premium" renewal fees, unlike most gTLDs.

As a fun note, in the long past I had a sale reversed at Sedo due to the uneducated buyer claiming that the annual .com renewals should be included "forever" with the domain's sale price!

name.com used to be such a good registrar and I used to have all my names with them. But they collapsed many years ago to becoming a so-so company, with high prices, poor service and without seemingly having much of a clue about what they are doing.

I suspect they will get swallowed up soon by some big fat obese company, which is usually not a good thing.

I have noticed increasing problems at name.com. I am having difficulty with expediting transfers out. The expedite option does not appear immediately like it used to. It took over 30 hours for this expedite option to show in my account after my last attempts to transfer out. Then once it did, it did not function properly.

Support or lack thereof is also a very big issue. The chat is useless and they tell you to email someone else or your manager. And submitting a form ticket takes a long time to get a reply. And the reply received is not helpful.
