My domain sellebooksite.com was scammed by a member of DigitalPoint forum. The payment made was revert by paypal. I have tried to contact the buyer for 1 week but don't get any reply any more from him.

I have reported this to name.com and told them my stories , expecting them to investigate this matter or ask me proof or anything to support my allegation that I was scammed.

But I was really disappointed when I got a reply from them. They told me right away that they can't help me about this matter. They said I must contact ICANN about this.

I am wondering why I need to go to ICANN immediately I guess they can fixed this problem in their side. I encounter the same problem before enom and they help me to get back my domain.

From now on I will not use this registrar any more to register domains. And I am also discouraging every to use them because they have very poor support.

In this regards, may I ask the experts here to give me advice or point me a link that will help me to get back my domain. I work hard for this domain with the site.

Thanks in advance

Sorry to read what happened to you, Ed. But every registrar's mileage varies
depending on how simple or complex the issue is.

Interestingly, the UDRP was used to recover at least 2 stolen domain names.
But that's because both cases satisfied all the UDRP's requirements and the
respondent didn't refute them, IIRC.

Other than that, only other thing I can suggest is you persist with Name.com.
Good luck.

another try is dp admins/staff, if they can help you otherwise the scammer won again or otherwise post the scammer's info and his username(s) so we get informed and stay away from his path

Yeah you have to keep pushing the Name.com staff.

It's honestly up to them to enforce it.

Why would it be up to them?

DP staff will not do a thing...

Don't use registrars that are domainer unfriendly.

Sorry to hear your unfortunate situation... I would contact ICANN but in the future wait till the payment hits your bank acct or pull the money out of PayPal before you hand over any item.

That doesnt help.... If the payment is reversed at Paypal then Paypal will take the funds back and if theres not enough in your account they will try to pull it from your checking or credit card on file. If they cant get the funds that way they will put your account into the negative and get the funds from any new payments made to your Paypal account.
