My godaddy account got hacked! Stolen names on the market! Beware
Today my GoDaddy account got hacked, and all of my names transferred out.

The thief is selling them on Digitalpoint as 'James.Blant' and possible other places.

There are several LLL.coms and others,
-

I'll see if I can find a full list and post it here. There are many LLLL.coms and other short names in the lot - around 200 names total.

Please check whois updates before you buy anything and report the seller to me if it is suspicious.

Wow, that's crappy.

This is not the first time for GoDaddy, I wonder how they do it so that we can protect ourselves against stuff like this.

Have you gotten in touch with Godaddy? Also contact Adam at DNF, maybe he can help.

Thanks for posting them here and making everyone aware what they are.
It is always good to get the word out fast...

I see he still has active sales threads at DP - why hasn't admin there shut him down yet?

Good Luck ToiletMonster!

That really sucks! Hopefully Godaddy helps you get it sorted out.

That account on DP is probably hacked as well. He's now banned.

The link is masked and leaded to GobDaddy instead.

Important ICANN Notice Regarding Your Domain Name(s)
****************************** ***********

Dear User,

it is that time of year again. ICANN(the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) annually requires that all accredited registrars (like GoDaddy.com) ask their domain administrators/registrants to review domain name contact data, and make any changes necessary to ensure accuracy. According to our records you are the ADMINISTRATIVE CONTACT for one or more domains registered at GoDaddy.com, Inc. as of May 1st, 2010.

To review/update your Account data, simply:
+ Login to https://dcc.godaddy.com/ default.aspx?isc=ICANN0908a& amp;ci=8987
+ You will be taken to a landing page and asked to enter your account information
Please take a look that your account and domain information is up to date.

If, however, your domain contact information is inaccurate, you must correct it. (Under ICANN rules and the terms of your registration agreement, providing false contact information can be grounds for domain name cancellation.) To review the ICANN policy, visit:http://www.icann.org/ whois/wdrp-registrant-faq.htm

Should you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] or call our customer support line at (480) 505-8877.

Thanks for your attention and thank you for being a GoDaddy.com, Inc. customer.

Sincerely,
GoDaddy.com, Inc. Domain Support

If you are the domain administrator of more than one GoDaddy.com domain account, you may receive this notice multiple times.

That was the way they got my pass. I get these ICANN emails all the time and most are real.. and they look the same, all URLs were masked. Beware.

Godaddy again - big surprise...

You have some valuable names there why are you not using a rock-solid registrar like fabulous? With their multi-layered security they can get into your account but still not steal your domains.

Not saying there is something wrong with GD, given their market share it doesn't surprise me they have a higher occurrence of domain thefts.

+1
Premium names deserve a premium registrar ;)

Which domains did you lose? if you post them here people will know not to buy them.

If you call GoDaddy they will certainly assist you.

My Godaddy account hacked last week and i lost my hosting, premium DNS, Paid Email accounts and much more i had in my account.

I am just able to recover my 30+ domains and nothing else i can recover from Godaddy even after providing every proof regarding my account. Undo Department said that they can assist with domains and contact with our Support department they will help you for account change. But when i contacted them they said only undo department can help me with account changes. After calling them for 5 days i finally forgot about my account as they were using me like shuttlecock here and there.

I don't recommend anybody to Godaddy anymore for hosting accounts. Because i have a very bad experience with Godaddy.

I have lost everything except domains and now if i request them then they can lock down that account.

Here i had a question in my mind that if on my request they can lock down my hacked account then why cannot they give it me back.

But it is fine now. Experience is very bad :| and soon i will transfer all my accounts from Godaddy soon. As i don't see Godaddy secure and anyone can lose his account any time and no hope for recovery from Godaddy.
