My domain name Fuje.com was stolen

My domain name fuje.com was stolen from me, so please let me know if anyone offers you this for sale. So I can take the appropriate action.

Heres the story:-

I was selling my domain name Fuje.com on several forums, and had a BIN of $600 almost immediately I got the BIN price via Digitalpoint forums.

Than she(supposedly) proceeded with payment by Paypal, and I transferred the domain name Fuje.com by Godaddy. Than I found out that the buyer was using a stolen paypal account, Paypal reversed the funds and I was left with no domain name and no funds.

So basically I was duped out of my domain name, and have no payment for it. I am currently working with Godaddy to recover my domain name but it does not look good as the WHOIS for the domain name may also be fake.

Did you check whois records on any info about the person who has your domain or did they set it up on private? Did you contact your domain company?

I feel you, people do that with my software sometimes. I make them prove their identity by emailing me a photo copy of their drivers license.. or fax copy.

It is very important that you contact your registrar right away about the issue. The registrar may not be able to restore the domain to you immediately without further investigation first. But they will be able to prevent the domain from being transferred to another registrar and keep track of it while they help you resolve the situation.

if the domain owner did the account change willingly, then the domain registrar, in this case godaddy.com, will not help you out. since the domain is pushed to the scammer, the domain naturally is in 60-day registrar lock.

But still, notifying the registrar about the situation will be of some assistance. At least they will be able to make some kind of internal note about the situation. It is important to report these kinds of things as soon as you find out about them regardless of who the registrar is. I always attempt to assist my customers to the best of my ability. Any company that is not there for their customers isn't worth doing business with. If one of my customers told me their domain was stolen, I would never say to them "Sorry, your on your own pal."

i guess that's the only thing they could do for you in this instance: making a note. when i was scammed, i called up godaddy.com and they told me that they appreciated the situation but there was nothing they could do since i pushed the domains away from my own account. i guess i understand godaddy's stance...

But when my account was compromised and someone got into my account and stole my domains, godaddy did take swift actions and made sure that i got my domains back.

Well I have to admit, I do understand what you are saying to an extent about Godaddy. It is hard for a registrar to take immediate action and just give the domain back to you right away. There are legal issues with that. There is no way of them knowing if you sold the domain or not and such. Contacting your registrar is just the first step. At least they can take some precautions about the situation. But I was talking moreso about registrars in general. Not just godaddy here.
