I have received my first legitimate offer on a domain name and I have a few questions.
I have read previously where there are some rather crafty brokers who set themselves up as a mom&pop type operation - in that they will contact you via hotmail etc. This person certainly fits that profile. She contacted me from a hotmail account and gave a phone number. After researching the number I can't find any record of her existence either in white page listing or using Google (not that this is a fool proof method - but it counts for something).
She has already registered the .net version of the domain she is enquiring on and has an ecommerce site up on that domain.
My question is this - if I am going to make a sale should I go ahead and register the .info domain as a way to hedge against giving the domain away at a low price to a broker with some deep pockets and big plans for the domain in question?
TIA
