My domain Extensions changed from .store to .com automatically

I had two domains with a .store extension and they have been out for sale a couple of days now.
Suddenly today, the domain extension got switched from .store to .com. i realised this because one of the domain names got sold and it said (x).com had been sold.
When i looked into my afternic portfolio, the extensions had switched. (Although on godaddy it's still .store). What's weird is that the .com domain is already bought and used by someone else, so i don't understand how that was possible.

I hope this made sense and if anybody knows anything

Maybe not understanding properly:

The domains you actually own that show in your account; you bought in the dot-store extension but now they are showing as being dot-com?
Replied same as in PM you sent

Correct. Only at afternic though. On my product page on godaddy, it's still dot-store domain

Wow but you don't own the dot-com yet showing as such in Afternic?

Yes correct. Earlier today godaddy had access to my account because i had some trouble with some other stuff. I believe that's the reason but i have no clue what they did and it must have been an accident

Thanks for screenshots, indeed this is very odd OP has dot-store in GD accnt but in Afternic accnt they are dot-com.
Obviously a glitch of some sort confusing as heck I think a rep should be tagged not sure customer service would understand.
Maybe it's just temporary and will rectify shortly?

I don't know what to do, but i've sent a mail to afternic so hopefully they can figure it out

See what happens.
But also, you mentioned one of the DNs got sold, and you got notified that it was the dot-com that got sold which you don't own?

Yes one of them got sold immediately because the dot-com domain is very popular. The other one was as well but i unlisted it quickly.

That's really strange. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of such occurrence.

I don't understand. Just hard facts:
You listed your dot-store domains which you own, and that is what you see in your GD. They show on your AF as dot-com. You don't own the dot-com. The dot-com got sold, you were notified even though you're not the owner.

Is that correct? What does unlisting have to do with it

Yes that's correct. No clue how that happened. I unlisted the other one because i can't sell a domain that is owned by someone else (Incase there will be some trouble in any way). I probaly will get the money, but it's gonna have to refund at some point

If they bought the dot-com you can sell the dot-store no need to unlist it. Seems to be a backend kerfuffle on AF's part.
Tagging @GoDaddy maybe they can take a boo

I meant that i unlisted the dot-com domain. Not the dot-store. I talked to godaddy but they told me to contact afternic

No you won't get the money it will go to the legitimate owner or at least it better, I mean that's a whole other issue added on to this one

How/where did you list them for sale? On GoDaddy or Afternic? If the latter, is it possible that you mistakenly typed those dotcoms yourself and they were accepted without verification because they weren’t already listed.

Bought on GoDaddy and listed on Afternifc. No i'ts not possible because these dot-com versions are owned by someone else and they get millions of views. I'll show you more in dm if interested

Those ownership facts by themselves don't prevent non-owners from listing the domains for sale on Afternic.

(I don't need to see the names.)

As much as buggy afternic is, I suspect that you just mistakenly typed .com while listing for sale as @Jannes suggested. If you didn't enable fast-transfer, there was no need for any verification and the listings went through. It happens all the time, because .com is the "default" extension, and yes, I have also seen *owners* of non-.com domains writing in the same mail/post that they are selling .com (for example: mail title "dedfsdsdf.store is for sale" and in the mail contents "we are selling dedfsdsdf.com").

It's possible PB but only op can say if this what could have happened. Typing in dot-com is a far cry from dot-store, I could understand a dot-co it's only one letter wayward.

Root problem is verification from the platform's end.
