Say I've narrowed down my search to a few potential decision makers who work in marketing for a very large company (via LinkedIn). Would it be more effective to:

    a) Only send an email to the contact that seems the most senior
    b) send the same email to all the contacts and CC them
    c) send the same email to all the contacts and BCC them

What would everyone else do in scenarios like this?

It is very complicated. There is no typical answer for your question but I prefer the first one.

Is the business development manager one of them? I would try him/her.

I'm curious about this, what exactly does a business development manager do? I've seen them but always passed them up for the head of marketing.

I hear Markeing Dept. good to call if cant ceo

Consider the Marketing Dept & stress less

i am “NOT a lawyer” but that’s what I would do. I followed thread Good luck! :)

always start at the top, the senior decision maker, the one who has the biggest budget or has overall budget control........

    SVP Marketing
    VP Marketing
    Senior Director Marketing
    Director of Marketing
    Global Head of Marketing

So you think the Marketing Manager will always be more senior than the Business Development Manager?

To clarify do you mean that even if the BDM turned you down, you still went to the CEO and had success with that approach?

@gilescoley has had a lot of success with outbound so if he suggests the BDM go for it

It depends on the company size, if you try and contact the CEO of a big company (5000+ employee size) company, I personally don't think you will get any traction.

managers at big corporates are not decision makers, their bosses are which I have listed above

Sorry, I meant Head of Marketing, not Marketing Managers
