Hi Guys,
decided to start a dedicated thread to getting .mobi in it's rightful place in the sedo tld search.
For those that are not aware(you never know some may not
) when you search for a domain on sedo, you get ........
.com
.cctld (either .co.uk , .de etc. depending which sedo you are on)
.eu
.info
.biz
.net
.org
the rest of the cctlds etc. are listed below
So, unless you search directly for a .mobi from the drop down menu on left you may never see it.
This is obviously unfair to the following people:
1/ mobi sellers
2/ mobi buyers
3/ mtld
4/ future investors/sellers
Who's to blame?
1/ sedo
Have sedo been informed?
Yes
Are they aware?
Yes
Will they correct this?
Yes ( we w ill make sure of it)
Something like this would look better :imho:
.com
.cctld (either .co.uk , .de etc. depending which sedo you are on)
.mobi
.net
.org
.info
.biz
(really .mobi anywhere in this list would be fine. .biz should be at bottom though!):imho:
I spoke to Brad Tilley(former Sedo senior rep. and all-round nice guy)
last October and he said wheels were in motion to add the tld .mobi to the tld section.
Well, unfortunately Brad moved into a different part of sedo & this never got done.
I think on top of this we have seen the general level of sedo broker standards slip into oblivion too. It seems the general concensus.
Either they are victims of their own succes (at best) or just plain useless.
I am lucky though, there is one outstanding broker who works for sedo & she is assigned to me and some others. I won't reveal her name just yet, but when she carries the job through to which she has been assigned :hehe: ,
i would like a statue erected  , in the .mobi flower garden we have here in the mobi forum .
You know, hang a left past Jeff's dressing room (the one with the gold star on it, and the giggling groupies inside) straight down the corridor & through the fire doors. Aaaah, so pleasant, i love it there... naysayers are banned. :hehe:
Anyway, back to the point, i am slowly cranking up the emails & this is a call to arms, pm your reps, email them, emphasise your amazement & disquiet that this is still not been rectified.
Apart from anything else sedo are missing out on potential sales & 10% fees & potential registartions through their 1 and 1 partners.
That's just from their own viewpoint. Apart from the fact that they are upsetting their core customer base (domainers) & mtld.
Here's an email i got (edited) back from the 'sedo legend'. She may just pull this off guys...about time:
Hi Guy,
I have taken this up directly with management here and reiterated the urgency that we find a solution to this asap as I do agree with you that something has to be done and you said it, your custom is very valuable to us. I have also informed our forum reps to keep all the domainers informed of our progress and changes so they donβt get too angry about it. I will keep you in the loop as soon as I hear anything.
Thanks for communicating your dissatisfaction with Sedo and I appreciate your patience in this matter.
Kind regards,
