.Mobi domains - Need some guidance

I had registered few .mobi domains last week, but those are first my reg for .mobi domain. I’m really new to .Mobi and I don’t have much info about the same.

I need your comments about it.

IndiaMobi.mobi
MobiBro.mobi
MobileProperty.mobi
MobileMapping.mobi

Also could anyone suggest what kind/category of .mobi domain having demand in market this time, does it worth holding it for few years

There is any chance for mobile browsers will substitute web browser in the coming future

Thanking you in advance.

Categories related to mobile phones are the most obvious category to reg (i.e. ringtones, mp3s, stocks,...), however most (if not all) good names in those categories are already taken.

There already are mobile browsers that can substitute for full sized ones. Opera, certain versions of Firefox, Dillo (to some extent) come to mind. However, there are several factors which discourage the use of these browsers. One, is that the content which has been developed for the full size sites is oftentimes not mobile-friendly -- just because your cell phone can display it, it doesn't mean it will be easy to read if the page was designed for a 1024x768 pixel monitor and your using it on a 320x240, 3 inch (maybe less!) screen. Sites which include tons of tables, hyperlinks listed vertically, large images, etc become annoying and make some sites a downright challenge to navigate effectively -- nevermind the extremely high cell phone bandwidth charges which still exist in most of the world and you can understand why people aren't heading to youtube.com on their mobile much.

As for future value... Dotmobis are currently pure speculation. There are many indicators (i.e. hundreds of large companies with developed dotmobis/in development) that suggest that dotmobi will likely enjoy at least modest success, however nothing is guaranteed at this point. There are too many variables at play to accurately predict what even a great name will be worth 5 years from now.

As for your names, I'd say they're alot better than most new people reg, however I'd drop them all, except perhaps mobilemapping (tough call). Most people get better at it over time. I'd suggest looking at the Overture Keyword Selector Tool before registering names to determine if there is a demand (i.e. many people looking for information) on the particular keyword you intend on registering. At this point in the game, it's become very hard to find good keywords... Even a couple months back, it was considerably easier than it is now. I used to be able to get 5-10 decent ones per day, now, it's more like 1. If you have plenty of time, I wish you all the best, however, if time is of the essence, you may be better off buying decent words off fellow NPers -- the words many of them have are the words that will be worth real money should dotmobi take off.

Welcome to the dotmobi camp and I wish you all the best :)
