That's ridiculous as well. I doubt most people who buy domains even know who the seller is, besides the name, or could care less. And they don't buy hype, they buy the name. And it's probably what was posted earlier, somebody upgrading their name. As I pointed out, there are many domains registered with those keywords. There is lots of money in crypto, some doing very well and have money to spend. And unless there is info saying otherwise, it sold. So what's to debate.

You mentioned something about his name being talked about in forums, hence the high sales. How many end users read domain forums? I'm sure a domainer might know about him but not most buyers. And then what would that have to do with a sale anyway? People talk about you, I'll pay more?

Look at your statement, which makes no sense:

So the buyer read this forum and thought, hey, other domainers think he's God, I'll pay much more now because of that?

No, again that doesn't make any sense. You're saying they paid that amount because they think he's some domaining God? Not the more reasonable explanation, they wanted that domain, asked for a price, got a price and paid it. Most probably would have sold for less, but not everybody is in the same financial situation. It's like that meet.me sale, $450,000, most probably would have taken 5 figures for it or less.

Most of this is coming across as just hate/jealousy. He has a lot of domains, has a past history of success, still doing it today.

Like I said before I think you did quit well with the sales price and yes could have sold it for a bit more given more time , but there is nothing wrong with the profit you made here at all!! The correct reason I was able to sell that particular name at that particular price is statistical likelihood, given I have 300,000 incredible .Com domains, many with high prices; the ones that hit good market timing hit good market price, randomly. And with the Trump economy and Bitcoin economy, there is extra cash at the moment for players to play. So I will sell tons of expensive domains just based on statistical likelihood. Nobody ever paid an extra cent thinking Im God I can assure you.

But if you went in to an estate agent or a shop that sells real estate property
And said I'd like to buy that $1m property to the sales person etc

The sales person would say how do you intend to pay for it etc

At which point you ask the sales person for a blank piece of paper to whicker the sales person looks puzzled but gives you a blank piece of paper etc

And on that blank piece of paper you proceed to write

And you write those two crypto coin gtlds on the piece of paper and you say I will swap that $1m house for for these two gtld domains

At which point the salesperson busts in to uncontrollable laughter

Many a fool has turned down a good quality domain by not understanding its value

Their incompetence is a problem its not our eg domain name investors problem etc

You've done extremely well with them if you sit on them for a few years

The Real factor is - If I knew that @Mike Mann already have an offer for CryptoWorld.com I would tell him in advance who the buyer is, on January 14, about 11 PM US Eastern time. ...before he sold his domain.
