Microsoft and .EU domains

I find it amazing that Microsoft has managed to get in at the top of all of the applications for Sunrise 1 of the .EU applications.

I have scoured their Trademarks and found that they are at the top for each of the following domains:

Activex.eu
Ageofempires.eu
Encarta.eu
Hotmail.eu
Microsoft.eu
MSDN.eu
MSN.eu
NetMeeting.eu
Outlook.eu
VisualStudio.eu
Windows.eu
Xbox.eu
Xbox360.eu
Windowsxp.eu
WindowsVista.eu
Windowsmobile.eu
MoneyCentral.eu

I think it's probably that no one dares to touch them :hehe:

However... They have lost out on ONE! A very nice domain I must say, which would have been for one of their latest projects, Windows LIVE!

Live.eu - Microsoft Lost out! - Somone managed to get in there before Microsoft and have had their application accepted by EurID! I wunder if they will try to prise this one out of the guys hands!

I think that Microsoft mainly used Register.com to get their .EU domains... They were quick to get to the top, I wunder how much they shelled out to get all of these Priceless domains!

I'm surprised that they didn't go out and try for ALL of their trademarks.

They didnt apply for:

DOS.eu
MSNBC.eu
JScript.eu
...and quite a few more

I wunder why they didnt simply get them for their general value as domains!

The registrant of live.eu, Multam bv, is one of the fake trademark cheats. They registered 61 trademarks shortly before the .eu sunrise specifically for the purpose of acquiring .eu domains.
They deserve to lose the domain, but unfortunately they will probably get to keep it.

Microsoft is Software company, they can't afford to sniff these loop holes like IREIT. They got Google to watch on the back (Ouch!!). All they're doing is a standard claim, what a proper company should do to defend their interest.

They even can't be bothered to acquire Live.co.uk , Live.de, Live.info or Live.org.
As long they got .com & .Net, they can plaster a big smile on their lovely face.

Microsoft is not our threat. As long we don't cross their path they are Soft as they sound.
