OpenSourceCMS - lets you play with demos of lots of CMSes and other good apps on their site
CMS Matrix - very nice breakdown of CMSes, you can search and pick features also
That being said, the top 4 PHP CMSes have to be: Drupal, Joomla, e107 and XOOPs.
Personally I like Drupal and e107 best. Drupal has a big learning curve but is very powerful. Joomla is probably more popular because it was Mambo, before they split, its nice but you might find another CMS that fits what you need better from these 2 sites.
