IMO lll.org prices are out of proportion compared to .net and .info...

the market is allways right even when it's wrong ;)

we can racionalize by saying that the use of .org by end-users has been increasing.

i don't think it justifies that currently premium .orgs are many times fetching values similar to premium .nets. For me is more a question of a "barrier" in the 1,000 USD level that sops bidding by domainers. that is, more human psicology than "rational" price action.

as for .info and other less used extensions, market punish them because they are more speculative. currently LLL.info are going for almost reg fee already and they don't even get to be the worst letter combos...

however this is now giving an opportunity to cacth interesting LLL.infos at almost reg fee values. a godaddy backorder can cacth some of them which makes them a relative low risk play.

tonecas

On NameJet:

lff.org: $2500 USD

it was like an elephant on a porcelain store... people do not understand that a bid on a pre-release list in NameJet is NOT a proxy bid.

it`s because they get traffic, they are limited and old names.

I have got that one I was telling you about I am reluctant to sell because of its traffic and am looking to develop it.

i think in the case of BuyDomains is pure dumb luck, for lack of better words. if they see the drop they go to the auction. if they don't see it, well, obviously they don't enter in the auction :)

what i mean is, they buy a lot of crap. seriously. i saw this plain and simple in a drop this summer by the warehouser RegistrarAds. they drop really ugly LLL.org combos and they caught all of them above $200 USD. the ones they didn't bid were sold bellow $200 as expected for crapy LLL.org (assuming as "crapy" LLL composed of two or more of the letters z,x,y,v,q).

they are interested on the short segment, from .org to .com, and they are interested more in quantity than in quality or traffic.

tonecas

that one was amusing. it first sold for $2,000 with a bid place very early which led me to think that someone was not going to pay for it.

The domain belonged to Network Solutions, one of the shareholders of NameJet.
