I remarked today checking my stats that i was listed in google. The domain is regged since like 2 weeks, the site is up since 10 days maybe less, i don't remember exactly.
I never submitted to google, my links come from my forum signature only on 3 or 4 forums and 1 or 2 blogs.

I'm asking because i want to understand why it happened so quick without submission. The keywords of the domain are good but what about google sandbox ?

the website is: GetDomains

if someone with site that is already indexed by google have link to your page on his/her site , google's spider will follow the link and will index your site too.(i think..)

yes thats how it works but i read everywhere about the google sandbox, and that it can take a long time before getting out of it

It's probably more to do with MSN ?? you also have 5 pages listed in the results in MSN

Google bot may have spidered the MSN pages ??? This is just a maybe as I do not fully understand how search engines work - however I have noticed that MSN picks up new domains far quicker than Google seems to lately.

In the past I never had a problem getting sites well listed with Google but now it takes forever - Now I always submit to MSN first.

With another site, i used to have yahoo crawling first, then google and msn. Msn was slower but with time i got more links than google or yahoo.

edit: at the beginning of the thread on my Awstats results, as links from Search Engines i got only 1 from Google, now i have 3 from Google and 1 from MSN :)

thanks for the link, rep added to you.

I have checked one of my domain obtained as expired, it has some links
but does not have much traffic. The google link shows as zero, but if you
do search "wereadwell" from google, you see a lot of old links there, so why
google is showing zero links?

when you develop, ensure you create a site map, or a holding page for each site that lists the URLs of other domains you need indexing. Point each site home using your footer on sites then you will be up and running in no time..

If i create a new domain or sub site (whatever) i can pretty much guarantee it will be indexed within a few hours and listed within a day or so...

And with SEO, the more traffic and external links you have pointing to that site the higher the listing. But in linking to your domains, it is far better to use keywords to point to your site rather than URL's... Example above (Cache).. He would be far better off using the text link "Learn To Read" (or something like that) and point it to 'wereadwell' rather than as he has done.. (hope you dont mind me using you as the example Cache :red: )

Hope that helps,

Cheers

Ian

Hi Cache - Thanks for the rep :)

ref: "The google link shows as zero, but if you
do search "wereadwell" from google, you see a lot of old links there, so why
google is showing zero links?"

If you type in wereadwell.com into the google search box it comes up -

Sorry, no information is available for the URL wereadwell.com

If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page by clicking on the following link: wereadwell.com
Find web pages from the site wereadwell.com
Find web pages that contain the term "wereadwell.com"

Basically as far as I understand it is not yet indexed by Google - try the SEO advice by Badger and then re-submit it to Google.

Here's another good link that a nice NP'er posted a while ago
http://webmasterpanel.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=85

Nice tools to the left :)

Is it just your homepage that's indexed, or other pages too? I find it's easy to get the homepage indexed quickly (within 24hrs) but that the rest of the site takes longer (1 week +).

Wow, never knew that before. I had to manually add mine <_<
