What, if any, are the general values of a L-L-L dot com domains?

I truly believe the future is bright 2/3 years down the road.

I am not selling my tripple premium L-L-L.com. I think some people are doing the same.

On the other hand I am not buying now as I have too many domains overal and I have to reduce my overal renewal costs. Other people probably buing less due to doubt about the economy for the next few years. Many might be afraid of the broken buy out of L-LL.com and LL-L.com. Probably if we see more enduser sales of L-L-L.com, people start buying more again.

By the way, if someone wants to buy few (double premium) L-L-L.com at regfee with almost a year left, pls PM me, I will send you a list (5 domains).

I think of all the "buyout" groups, L-L-L.com has been least damaged over the past year. As far as I know, it's still sold out (correct me if I'm wrong), and the prices I'm seeing aren't terribly far off from what they had been. Compare that to LLLL.com and others, and I feel pretty good about these -- they're still the ones I have no qualms about holding on to!

i put few of my L-LL.com's at auction, and im intrested that i allready got about 250% ROI from those domains

I don't sell my L-L-L.coms, especially premium, except for the moment when I urgently needed funds. On the other hand I understand why people don't start bidding wars. Now majority of investors already know each other and don't start harsh bidding wars. And prospective of global economy is still unknown, while looking at US dollar deflation it's harder and harder invest live money into domains. But who knows with future prospective of US dollar hyperinflation may be domains will survive because it will be very cheap to renew them at some point of time, renew and wait for better times.

Thanks for the insight to my question about L-L-L's. The sentiment was pretty much what I figured. Recent failed buyouts of other niches has affected not only L-L-L but a few other areas I believe.

Short .coms (as well as other strong extentions) will continue to thrive in the future as global economy strengthens and more asians and africans hit the net.

Here is something to think about--

What will these young asians and africans type into their browser? Will it be credit crisis, credit card, paris hilton, los angeles real estate, and dog sweaters? I highly doubt it... they will type in random letter or symbols on their keyboards first. Somthing like bns, odmx, okw, or cckvg. I'm not thinking 2 years out, but 5 or 6 years out.

This is a completely diiferent outlook than just looking for companies that may like L-L-L's for their company initials.

Here is something to think about--

What will these young asians and africans type into their browser? Will it be credit crisis, credit card, paris hilton, los angeles real estate, and dog sweaters? I highly doubt it... they will type in random letter or symbols on their keyboards first. Somthing like bns, odmx, okw, or cckvg. I'm not thinking 2 years out, but 5 or 6 years out.

This is a completely diiferent outlook than just looking for companies that may like L-L-L's for their company initials.

If a young person on those continents starts browsing, the things they will search for will be highly local in nature because their idea of the world is much smaller than others. When they begin to do this and realize that their local/native word for "mom" is something entirely different in their dialect of a certain language it may cause a sense of being overwhelmed and may cause them to just type in short letter bursts to "see what comes up". If they do this and like what the see, they may come back around for another visit even if they can't read the text.

I'm not a language expert by any means but I will attempt to explain further:

It really comes down to not only the number of languages spoken, but rather the number of different local dialects. lets take a look at Europe and Africa. Yes, there are many different languages spoken in Europe and a few dialects within those languages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_of_Europe. But, many of the obscure dialects are extict and the number pales in comparison to African languages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_African_languages . Take people in the Gombe and Borno states in north-eastern Nigeria, they speak a dialect of Chadic called Tera. There very well may be some websites out there for them. But, what about the 46,000 people who speak Jara Chadic? Are the dialects close enough so they will know how to navigate? This is just an example. Sure there are translation programs some of these people will use but it will take time for them to become comfortable with them once they even find them. The person selling them the internet device will surely point them in the right direction, but then what? My hypothesis---> random typing!

I know I tend to ramble, but my fingers cannot keep in touch with my brain! And my brain is not that good to begin with!

You can't look at it through your eyes alone...Have you ever watched a 5 yr. old get online his/her first few times? How about a 58 yr. old? How about an Illiterate 58 yr. old? What do they "type"?

The reason I even thought about this is a simple word literacy.

My wife is a librarian and she pointed out to me that she recently witnessed a 13 year old girl that could not tell time, let alone read. Yet, she was able to find myspace and youtube. Do you really think she visits these sights to "read" what she is looking at? I doubt it. She simply enjoys looking at the videos on youtube and finding her "friends" on myspace and is able to do this because she recognizes "Mandy Jones" by repetitive association. If this person is looking for the latest "celebrity gossip" is she going to type this into google? Probably not because she has no idea how to spell it. Instead she will type "hot" or "stars" because it is a simple word she may know by association. Therefore, the "traffic" she generates will not be be targeted correctly to her for "celebrity gossip" and she may give "untargeted traffic" to a visually engaging website about "stars" in the sky, not Hollywood. If see decides she likes the site's pictures or graphics she may stay for a while. Try googling "stars" and see what google gives you.

After this young lady left the computer, my wife checked the history menu out of curiosity. what did she see?

She shared this only because she gets sick of me being on the computer and we both have large questions about the world in general.

There are 38 counties on this planet with adult literacy rates below 70%, with most of these coming from Africa and Asia. Bangladesh (52.5%), after many years of military coups, found democratic roots in 1991. Reletive stability as well as economic progress ensued with GDP almost doubling per capita. Bangladesh has 150,000,000 people, but, roughly 72,000,000 people there are illiterate. How will they comminicate once online? by typing long sentences they cannot understand, or short relitively simple burst of letters and symbols they know? How will you target them best? With a "bangladesh micro loan" texted website, or a visually engaging website for "taka", their currencey? After they find out all they want to know about short "familiar" words/graphics, they will likely move on to other SHORT RANDOM SITES THAT ARE VISUALLY ENGAGING.

Not all traffic is targeted and it will become even less targeted when more illiterate people come on line...That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :p
