My question is in regards to Google keyword tool and search results. Let us use a long tail keyword as the example: Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife.

In keyword tools, Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife gets 2900 broad searches and 1600 exact searches.

Have I understood it correct if that means.

Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife (in no particular order) gets 2900 searches and 112,000 results

"Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife" (sentence) gets 1600 searches and 6280 results

Would that be correct?

No. That means the words in any order, with or without additional words, gets 2900 searches. It can also include:

synonyms, singular/plural forms, relevant variants of your keywords, and phrases containing your keywords.

What is broad match? - AdWords Help

Broad match is meaningless from a domain research point-of-view.

As for the results:

No quotes = all the words are in the page, not necessarily together or in that order
Quotes = words in the page in that order.

I think you misunderstood my question there.

Quoting myself and you at the same time:

Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife (in no particular order) gets 2900 searches and 112,000 results

No. That means the words in any order, with or without additional words, gets 2900 searches. It can also include:

In no particular order means the same thing as in any order, so I don't see why that no comes in. It would be the same as answering to "1+1 is 2 right?" - "no it's two".

My main question here is, when we count exact searches, do we count people searching with " before and after " their sentence or not?

Let me try this again: Talking about JUST the Adwords keyword tool, not search results...

Broad match (Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife) includes words in any order AND phrases with other words before, after and in between the words of that phrase. It also includes singular/plural, synonyms.

Here are some possible broad matches for your phrase:

Bulgaria Nightlife Sunny Beach
Sunny Beech Bulgaria Nightlife
Sunny Beaches Bulgerya Nightlife
Bulgaria Nightlife on a sunny beach
South Beach nightlife for Bulgarians
Bulgarian shore nightlife
Life at night on Bulgaria's sunny beaches
SunnyBeach nightclub in Bulgaria
Nightlife on the sunny shores of Bulgaria

EXACT matches ([Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife]) are just that: Those words, that order, no other words before, after or in-between.

PHRASE match ("Sunny Beach Bulgaria Nightlife") = those words, that order, with other words before or after.

Yes, so I got the broad right. The question about exacts, I will try again.
Does exact searches, when containing multiple words, mean that the serches are done with " before and " after all the words?
Does exact searches mean people who searched for the exact sentence?

Hi, exact searches do not mean that users type in the " before and " at the end. There is no " in their searches.

Hope it helps.

So you two don't agree?

Because " before and after is what makes it a sentence. If you don't put " before and after your searches you just get the words.

Thanks for the help by the way, I just want to try and know the exact details of this.

The keywords tool is intended for advertisers. Exact match for advertisers has nothing to do with whether or not people typed their search in quotes or not. It helps you estimate ad impressions - how frequently your ad will be shown. As long as the words are the same, it counts it as a match regardless of whether or not the searcher typed it in quotes.

To get the accurate results for the traffic, you should focus on the "exact section". It means they search the keyword with exact words and exact order. For broad, and phrase...This will not be good thing to concern.

In my own opinion, in Link Building you can use the long tail keywords but in searching, I recommend using the shorter one.

its hard to top the short keywords... and i think real benefit of optimization is achieved by topping the short keywords.
