I think what wwwweb is trying to say, which I agree with, is that you must squeeze your winners for all you can because there will be inevitable losers, and ongoing expenses.

Just like with the stock market, if you are a trader, if you cap all your winners at just 1 point but let your losers go 10 points, you'll have to win 11 times just to make up for 1 loser.

Anyway, this is one philosophy. Another is to just dump everything cheap, quickly.

How do you know "who" to contact when you're flipping?

Google

There is good post here somewhere about finding end users using Site:Domainname.*

Also, I just upgrade to paid plan on Hunter.io. The first week made a sale. It is paid for.

I think you did well. People here will say you left money on the table no matter what so who cares. In my opinion a guy who owns a jet that needs to be sold isn't using the term Sell my Jet because he's to busy making money. He's got assistants for that stuff and the assistant isn't typing in Sell my Jet because the assistant doesn't own it. He would type in Sell a Jet, Jet Sales, Jet Brokers etc....

What's done is done, and congratulations, but given that the following dot coms are for sale:
sellprivatejet is for sale for $23,800.
buyselljet $10,000.
weselljet $35,000.
jetdeal $41,600.,

and also if you look there isn't really any "buymy" short domain name being offered for much under a few grand, and the "sellmy" are mostly all being offered over a couple grand,

$500. seems really low.

I mean, you may find on the other side too (the low side), for example from namebio
jetdeals dot com sold for $511. 8/4/2017 at GDaddy, which would make the jetdeal $41.6K listing seem very high, but keywords buy or sell, and jet are apparently asking for a lot right now.

Maybe you did well, or maybe you just crashed the comparables market by selling your Beverly Hills mansion at Watts prices.
I agree. myjet.com could have done way better.

Those are all crap names. You can't compare value based off what someone is asking for a name. Sales are the only comparables and you need to research those because many are fake to manipulate the market.

Congrats on the sell, for a hand registered domain $500 is really good.. Imo you should have requested more for the domain.

I have to agree that 500 USD (if that was the sales price) seems very low. I would have marketed it at 50K as well.

Seems like a reseller price. A low reseller price.

But OP got a nice ROI and is satisfied. Thats prime.

Most end user sales are never reported. Also all your comps are three word names double the length of the name in question. And all contain "sell" for some reason. You should substitute sell for jet. Must be better comps than those?

Its not worth 50k to a reseller. But to an end user in the jet industry.. Peanuts..

@promo I agree with your statement but I could not find any better comps on namebio..

Different keyword, but same industry, WheelsUp.com was a $50K sale, and the buyer later claimed they got a $500K offer, which they declined.

If you think those are all crap names

and

that comparable offers to sell are irrelevant and may not be used to support asking price to a buyer

and

that reported sales are fake,

if you truly believe those three things, then you’ve already lost beyond three strikes to any potential buyer who might come your way and might as well just turn over all your domains to me to sell them for you, because you’ll never get anywhere near their value with those beliefs and attitude.

Any buyer that comes your way will easily dominate you.

09/10 is ambigious. is september 2010, or september 10th. Sorry but I don't understand this format.

For the math class dropouts: If 100% of 23 is 23 + 23, what is 2073% of 23 ?
