Didn't even know people bought and rented jets. Thought that was a 0.01% thing. I guess now I'll use my lunch money to rent a jet and fly to Japan <3

Only in domain 'industry' you make over 2000% in profit on a deal and you still feel you left some on the table.

Of course considering you have a book to balance

I have a domain want 6700 for. Two offers last year for 2000 that were upped to 3000 declined. Offer came in recently for 2000 I countered 6700. See what happens. Domain probably worth more than 6700 anyway.

Everyone has a different style and objective.

Jet charter business much bigger than the jet ownership biz. There is also big business in hiring a pilot to fly your jet.

We've owned single and twin engine prop planes no jet yet. The main expenses are in the maintenance/insurance/storage and fuel, it's not cheap to fly your own flights just saves time. And it's fun except for the friends/family on the ground who are always worrying about you.

Wow, nice! I would probably think wearing a parachute or having one handy would bring the risk down a lot.

When you get a jet, pls post pics!! :)

if you flip domains fast
you are cash flow positive
-on that domain

but you may not be able
to pay your rent / food / renewals

if you earn substantially most of the times
when you sell a domain
it may change your life

so its time to rethink your strategy

Thanks. BTW you should get rid of your TM Domain names (Disney).
Congratz for the sale. May I ask you how the conversation went more ore less ,or how the process went to get finally that sale? That shared experience will be very appreciated.
Thank you.

@erchaman
It was an outbound email to the ops manager in which she replied "how much". After a day I followed up on the quote and then the VP got involved and replied: "Take this $$ or go away!" So I took the offer but then he started to backpedal on the deal. I then emailed the President to bring visibility to the offer and the back peddling. He was able to handle the situation and close the deal on a good note. Stand up guy.

The reason I got the President involved is that I am doing business just like his organization. Negotiated deals and it would not be fair if someone offered a deal on a jet then said: "Let me think about it". I am sure they would like "WTF?"

Shouldn't you add the money you've spent on renewals to the equation?

Sale price was apparently $400.

What I meant was $23 for the domain + 7 years of renewals should add up to $100. It's still a profit, but not quite as impressive as it's made out to be.

I think most of us agree that he sold too low but anyway it was still a profit and itโ€™s yesterdayโ€™s newspaper now.

At first I wasnโ€™t sure what he meant by 09/10 whether he meant Sept 10, Oct 9, or Sept 2010, but later on he wrote โ€œThis one was held for <30 days.โ€

I doubt it would've sold for $400 if it was put up for auction. And after 7 years of holding onto the domain I have a feeling he should have an idea of its worth based on the inquiries he's received.
