Hello,
I currently own the domain Fi*dAB*bySitter.net and I contacted Fi*dAB**ySi*ter.com
to know if they are interested in it.
They offered me "South of 400 euros", should i accept it? and what price should i offer them back?

thx!

Do you have plans of developing the domain? If not, 400 euros is a reasonable amount. However, you can make a counter offer too, then you meet at an agreed price...

It is good offer (around $600). As owner of .com version, they could have not bothered at all.

For the dot.net version of this name, anything over $300 and I'd run with the money. If they offered you 'south of 400 euros' that means it's close to 400 euros, but they say they don't want to go over 400, is that right? Still, for the dot.net that's a great price. You can either be safe and accept their offer, or make a slightly higher counter offer, like 600 eu and see what they say, or make a slightly lower offer of 350 to be really safe...
Findababysitter.com is a well-developed site, but it's not absolutely huge (caters only to the UK); if it were worldwide they might spring a lot more cash if they really want the dot.net, but with a smaller range (and income) to the site, I doubt they'd pay a high high amount for the dot.net, when they already have the dot.com.
My 2 cents :)

Fair offer, I wouldn't bother countering in this case... but hey that's just my opinion. Good luck!

Tell them 500 and say let's call it a day,
Worst case they counter with original amount.
Good price though for a .com owner to offer.

first of all, relax, don't get over-anxious ...... wait few days before replying.

meanwhile offer your name to the owners of the cheaper extensions (org/biz), mention that you received an offer from the owner of .com and ask if they are interested to offer more. mention a deadline for an answer.

also offer the name to

findababysitter.com.au

findasitter.co.uk

babysitterdirectory.com.au

and all the other similar and related names which you find on google.

if you really shouldn't receive any reply from any other company, then reply back to the initial bidder and request a little more (like 50 or 100 more)

thats what i would do.

however, if you badly need money, ignore my posting, take the money and run.

Do NOT counter.. Take the money and run! Consider yourself lucky. Do not be greedy in this case. They might change their mind and say $0!
Good Luck!

In this case, trying to use an offer and get better one could irritate the .com owner. I would certainly pull away the offer, if my counterpart would do that.

Hi

I would suggest you to develop this domain and you can earn the traffic from .com as it is a reputed well developed site. You can churn out good revenue on adsense. You can go in for mini sities or develop it. If you wish to sell it go ahead and that is a nice offer for this name.

All the Best.

.net usually does not earn traffic from .com

It usually works the other way around.

I would not type the ful domain name like this. All they have to do is type your .net domain into google and this thread comes up as the first result. They may very well end up seeing exactly what advice you have received...
