Hi guys, in your opinion, is parking dead?

Look at my last month screenshot, there are a lot of days with clicks and $ 0 revenue. 3 clicks and $ 0.01....

My stats:
CTR: 1.5% (LOL)
RPC: $ 0.01 (LOL! But only when I'm lucky! Otherwise 3 clicks $ 0!)
RPM: $ 0.11 (Seriously??? 1k user to earn $ 0.11? $ 0.11??)
Last month earning: $ 0.09 (LOL!!!!) .

I suppose I'll move away all my domain from parking companies and redirect them to sedo/uniregistry/afternic landing page.

This situation does not make sense.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I knew it

well the thing about bodis is they are good at banning just those who are guilty.. and they really dont need that much time for it

all the newbie stuff aside..can someone actually say something constructive and explanatory about this stat? I mean is it bots or what?

@alcy hope you get some answers :) only time i encountered CTR above a 100% was on google ads
was running a campaign for a client of mine when the competition used bots to click his ad and we got CTR above 100% no idea if that translates over to parking

it seems something weird.. btw i would inform bodis support to keep this event monitored.

if something like that keep happening, chances that your domain will be faillisted are really high.
If the domain become faillisted it's very easy that you will get a chargeback too.

I already seen and got single visitors clicking multiple times, also like 20 or around but never so many like that....
I just got random events that could happens, never got the account banned for that reason because I have a positive revenues streamline and quality traffic.

If you are still using parking service, you're in the wrong business.
The parking business is dead for domain investors for a decade now, still ok with domain parking owners because that's their business.

Develop your domains or send it to your own sales page.

first...isn't it bit contradictory that something be dead for users and profitable for company owners?

second...do u really believe a big forsale banner on top of parked page is not effective or means something different to buyer than the sale page directly...

tnx good points..it kinda got revised to 2 visitors.now..tho not yet finalized.. and epc went down.
making total now 21$

it is weird.. i guess we don't want our names faillisted

but doesnt bodis have elaborate automated filters and code..to catch things that should not be happening?

bodis has this filter but things like these can still happen.

usually yes we don't want our names faillisted but there are faillisted domains that make great revenues and yes I do have names that make better revenues on 2nd tier ads than with tier1.
However it's rare, at least for me.

@alcy
what do you see when you check the performance of that domain on that particular day?
Do you see clicks coming from the same source and/or the same country?

If yes,
it could be some bot or someone trying a software and you happened to be the target. You should also consider the case those clicks to be intentional by someone that wants to mess with you (this happens albeit rarely)

If you have a good history with Bodis you shouldn't be worried about those clicks. The worst that can happen -and the most probable imo- is that they will get filtered out either when the day will finalise or as a clawback at the end of the month.

it is true someone who wanted to get this name and saw it forsale..got peed and started to click.

but it should get readjusted as u say.

all clicks from Netherlands..

type in traffic... mixed terms selected..but mostly..get free bitcoin..

it's a bitcoin name.

guys can an experienced parker like @Hypersot or other plz explain what is this whole thing about dnnsec records..

here is the story..

I accidentally went to my domain btccasino, net

and noticed it does not resolve to bodis.. all my 950names are set to bodis
...I email sav support and they said there is some old ds record making this happen..which of course I never set...
and I should remove it..see foto of their reply..

bodis told me same..is this gonna fix it? where do these come from? how can I now know or check if all my names resolve properly.. sav already found a few that do not.. u guys prolly got names going nowhere for months without knowing ...so no sale lander.. nothing..

pretty sure you can disable dnssec in your registrar's panel.. chances are there will also be a way to do this in bulk

Here is an example how it looks in a registrar (in this case OpenProvider):

tnx..yea sav has no bulk but others probably do..so I had like 6 names on sav..for months maybe couple years..that never resolved to bodis..so buyers never saw lander..

isn't this terrible? I mean tons of people must not know this.

is there some bulk check tool to see if names resolve?

Checking if names resolve is tricky. You must have a static address which you should inform the parking service that you will use for that purpose (so it should not be accepted as monetisable by them) and then find a tool that pings via https.

When you do that, you'll be surprised how many times domains do not resolve for various reasons :)

The worst thing however is when domains resolve but do not show any ads and, unfortunately, that's something that cannot be checked.. at least by us.

well but what about the simple case I mentioned..with explanation sav gave.
what if some names have some weird ds.records..from way back

those wont resolve..so if I had 6.. then I can only imagine other people.

I don't remember ever having any issues with dnssec so I can't relate I'm afraid. The only times I had names that didn't resolve were for completely unrelated reasons

so maybe another sav issue or bug? they have so many.. they claim these records were added by PREV registrars..nice blame game...and yet I never do anything besides change to bodis

wtf sav

cant believe I had 6 names.sit at sav not resolve for months...maybe year for.some.. that's money wasted..

okay..so.i got like 300 dn.sav.
...300 dyna...300 ionos..

how to make sure they all resolve?

try Cloudflare

1) use a domain that resolves
Cloudflare detects the needed nameserver settings automatically

2) use the same settings when you add the nonresolving names
( at Cloudflare )

at least next you know
the nameservers are not the issue
after you've done that

Hi

i've used many registrars over the years to park names, and have never had the issue you speak of.

guess sometimes, it doesn't pay, to use cheaper.

imo...

I agree but my point was I was not aware of issue
...and that others wouldn't be either.. so the only way u can say u never had this issue is if u checked if all yer names resolve. I didnt. most dont.

I had domains at netsol for 1 year
they never ever resolved

it just was impossible to make the nameserver resolve
guess where I will never ever buy a domain

true

but none expect or even know about this possibility ..therefore nobody check if all names resolve..

I came across this by pure chance ..after bodis and sav investigation there was some old ds record..nobody knows from where
...no one wants take blame..this is picture below..b4 I removed it..

Hi

many of the backorders caught by snapnames are registered by netsol
and i haven't had any issues there.

changed ns, for a name registered there two days ago and noticed visitor count at other ppc having those names servers.

perhaps you forgot to save the change?

imo...
