Here’s the million dollar question, okay for most it’s the tens of thousand dollar question but let’s get a bit more dramatic to keep things exciting. It’s no secret that buyers in China were buying LLLL .com domain names last year at a stronger clip than ever before.
Still I’m scratching my head now and wondering, could 2016 be the year to buy LLLL .COM’s at a huge discount as fear spreads?...

There's a lot of people spreading fear in the LLLL/short domain market. These people are obviously biased, although they claim they're not. Didn't we have fear-mongerers saying the same thing about LLL's and NNNN's 5-10 years ago? These domains have been going up in value for years and they continue to be high in demand. Are most NNNN's developed and owned by end-users? I don't think so. Most of them are sold and bought in the aftermarket, but you still see their values going up year over year. How can you say it's a fluke?

Furthermore, with more people having access to the Internet worldwide, don't you think that demand will only go up for these short domains as competition (resellers and end-users) grows?

"Possession is eleven points of the law. And there are but twelve." - Scottish smallest number of keystrokes wins, for us to win, we need a successful strategy for holding, mine is to buy mass quantities of three letter names in extensions on sale for a dollar or two, and hope to sell a few to pay reg fees to be able to continue to hold, and to hold on forever...

In its core domain market isn't much different from stock exchanges. It is a lot about psichology. When ordinary people (not professionals in the market) see that there is money in some goods than they start to buy, and their friends and neighbours see that, and than they start to buy. With lot of buyers than price goes up. Proffesionals sees that opportunity to and than they start to buy a lot and sell to other buyers, and it goes on and on and you got baloon that is not realistic. In some moment it will blow and prices will drop a lot, even lower than it is their realistic price. That moment is great moment to buy! (I am stock broker) Why? Because market will go up to its realistic level. Bad thing about this is that realistic level needs time to be achived (sorry for my bad english). That could be a problem with this LLLL.com domain. Why? Because domain market has some characteristics of fashion, there are lot of trends that can goes up and those trends can be IN and LLLL.coms can be OUT.
Now we have hunderds and hunderds TLDS (xyz, newyork, online , club, vegas, king...) and they have huuuuge marketing potential. I know, a lot of you will tell me to read more about domaining, but those TLDS has great MARKETING potential, and I am sure that in ten years, or less .coms will be relic history, like LPs, VHS, CDs, Tape Cassets... So it is question will LLLL.coms market have enough time to recover before .coms and all classical TLDS are washed away by marketing agencies?

I think this time yes, but next bubble can be the last :)

You are sure? I doubt it very much that .coms will go the way of the dinosaurs

I think so IMO. There's a dip in 4L .com chips and non chips... Perfect time to buy (If you believe that the market will go back up of course).

It is panic now. Every domainer is getting back his money by selling domains. The different banker of 4L,5L.com/cn, 5N,6N,7N.com/cn is arguing and fighting each other. Many reasons:1). huge volume of 5L.com/7N.com with less end-users and the renewal fee is unbelievable and realized; 2). the new extention of wang(similar to net) is blooming and welcome in China, 3).the captial is losing to the marketing of stock and housing;4). the economic surrounding is so bad.

you need to tell the marketing agencies as the few that are being used by them are being employed as redirects to their legacy TLD.
amazon.wedding
carlsberg,football
funny.reviews redirect to amazon
this is the only adoption that we are seeing by endusers and hopeless for domainers nearly all being TM

Rephrased :)
Any time in the history of domaining isn't we domainers ask the same question "Is now the best time to buy or sell"?

5L and 7N are too plentiful to become valuable, imo. You have to use some common sense too... 3,200,000 combinations of Chinese chips alone. As an investor, how can you justify holding onto and renewing thousands of these chips, but not being able to sell them for over $xx a piece. There isn't enough demand for these and I don't think there will be. At some point, there has to be a growing end-user population in order to sustain the growing values of short domains.
