Hello all. I'm curious. Is domaining just a waiting game? Or is it something you can work hard at, and become sucessful? I would like to be more proactive at it. But how? I am a member of numerous forums and other sites. I have an account with just about every auction site there is. I've listed my domains everywhere. So I guess I just sit back and wait? Is that my only option? Just list, and sit back and wait. Don't get me wrong. I've made some money in the short time I've been in this business. But it's always been a result of the "waiting game." Are there other options other than list & wait? Can anyone help me out?

You can be proactive. You first have to look at your portfolio and analyze who are the real end users for the domains you own. Do you own domains that relate to a product or a service ? Start seeing who advertises for those keywords. Research them, do not send a spammy message to the contact us form on their site, but find out who the right person to send an email to.

Make sure the name you send has value, "sounds cool","brandable" "another extension is registered" is not the right verbiage to use when sending them an email.

If they use adwords, make sure you know how much they spend per click, if your domain has traffic that is worth talking about.

Make sure you send individual emails or better yet use the phone.

Hope that helps,best of luck.

find potential clients from Google who are using adwords and send emails to them describing how your domain would be helpful to their business.

For finding customers, just put the keywords which is in your domain in Google and look at the right side ads, go to each website, in contact section to send message.

This is all great advice. As far as these emails go, is there possibly a good template to go by? My wording can come off a bit condescending, or aggressive at times.

Also, is there possibly a "winning guideline" for ads that you post? I have a feeling that I'm on to something, but I'm just not wording my ads right. Is it the longer the better? Is it the shorter the better? Or is it anything at all? I've had some success, but I have a feeling that with a little tweaking, I can have a lot more.

For me it's a waiting game. And you can connect your all domains in one adsense account and earn money from them while you are waiting :)

I just recently tried another approach. I just opened up a shop at cafee press. I have a domain called iloveyouman.org, so I opened a shop full of I Love You Man! products. I call it "Mr. B's Bromance Products". I figure if this does well, it could help with the sale of my domain.

I can't decide if I want pictures, curtains or photos of politicians.
You have to realize what YOU want for sure:cy:.
