Is Flippa's basic listing of $9 enough to get some decent views

Hello NP's
I just wanted to inquire if the $9 basic listing is enough to attract some buyers on Flippa, because the next upgrade is of $59 which is very expensive especially for people whose country currency is very weak compared to the dollar ($).

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The main problem here is that people see easy money in domaining from the start, and it's not like that, you need to learn, work and gain experience

I have used Flippa the most in the past when it was good but now I dont really use auctions. I dont get enough time to be proactive with domaining anymore and only wait for inbound/passive sales. Flippa were giving away credits a little while ago so I used them on a basic auction listing 3 weeks ago. 15 day listing and 15 views I think. Sold the name for 50 bucks which was ok by me but showed that the user base isnt there anymore. If I was forced to use an auction provider Id probably use namejet to target other investors or sedo for endusers but only if forced to choose. At the end of the day it all comes down to the quality of the names being auctioned. Top names usualy get top prices wherever you sell them.
which aftermarket auctions do you prefer then...if not flippa?

Little advice: for 9$ you can list your domain for as long as possible, get watchers, and if domain is not sold Flippa gives you one more try for free. So you have more time and previous watchers from the round before.
Upgrade of 59$ is not worth at all.

Don't waste your money. Lots of issues with Flippa imo.

9 bucks listing isnt really worth it. Be lucky to break into double figure views on a 14 day listing.

I received 7 views and one lowball offer for my $9 listing fee. Total waste of one domain renewal!

$9, 8 views, no bids, no sale after one week -- floppa.com

I'm not keen on upfront fees. Prefer to pay a commission if/when sold.

Absolutely not a guarantee of sale. I just complete a listing of one my domain name; iaaf.io and it did not gather more than 50 views and no bids for a period of 30 days.

Avoid the $59 listing at all costs, equivalent of throwing your money in the trash

I read that $9 is for auction. Bin or make offer is$1. And they have this rule. Your listing is exclusive. You can’t sell them anywhere else.

If your reserve is met on flippa auction, or you have any pending sale on flippa - just close listings on other markets

Means no afternic, no other markets. That’s not a problem, but a less choice. I think afternic + other markets would give me more exposure.
Afternic has such a poor outdated interface..i hate visiting that website..most of the scam websites out there..have the same interface as afternic..(lol)

You dont know until you try!
Give a try first;)
Flippa is exclusive marketplace with price and other sort of offers they give imo.

Maybe you should pay his $9 listing fee lol.

$ 9 listing fee is high, because the exposure is limited. Flippa should consider reducing the listing fee so that more clients can list their domain names. More domain names, more exposure. A fee of $ 3 is what we want them to accept for a domain name.

The staff in Flippa are exceptionally great. They are promptly responding to the issue and moreover, they are highly unbiased in their decisions. That is one of the plus point with Flippa, I like most.

Don't waste your time and money. Learn from my experience.
GoDaddy, Afternic give far better result even with free listing as compared to Flippa's paid listing.

I you're new to the marketplaces, first understand how the auctions work - Buy It Now (BIN), Offer/Counter Offer, Push to Auction, etc.

Good luck

9 is not "for as long as possible;" it's 30 days
