I found a premium domain recently (value in high $X,XXX) where the whois was invalid. I did more research and found the owner of the domain regged it for his company in 1996, and ended up being fired for some reason. The guy is either dead or in jail, because I cant find him. I Even found some stuff google didnt after hours of searching.

The domain expires in 10 days.

I reported it as having invalid whois... does this mean they will delete it and I will have first go at snapping it if I backorder and nobody else has?
Thanks for any help.

Most likely the name will quietly expire.

Did you try contacting the company he was fired from? They may have it in their account even if the whois reads his name.

In regards to your question, it really depends on where it is registered at. If it is at Godaddy it will likely end up in a TDNAM auction, if it is at Network Solutions it will end up at NameJet, etc.

Best to keep trying to buy it from the company before it ends up in the drop auctions, because unless you're really lucky and it slips through the cracks you'll end up paying a premium.

I have reported many super premium names valuing 6 figures and nothing has happened really.
