.IN / SEDO - Good news, sales commission rates lowered.

SEDO has lowered commission on .IN domains.

I had posted previously about SEDO reps telling me (and others) the commission on the Indian domains was going to come down soon, and now it has. They are in the same category as com/net/org/us etc.

After complaining about the previously high rates to Mara (member "sedo" here at the forum) and another rep, it's nice to see they listened to us and realized there was no extra paperwork or complications involved with the Indian extensions.

I'm negotiating a couple .IN sales right now, and just realized the change had been made when double checking everything. At first I thought it was an error in the negotiation interface (happened before). And if you are parked there, no minimum commission, just flat 10%.

A big change from the previous $150 minimum when these were in the "other" category.

Thanks for listening SEDO. :tu:

Good Job DB, in all fairness most exts should be if parked 10% I have a .sc with 150 EURO min its the same process as pushing a .com. Sedo is doing no extra work. They should charge more if a domain is at a lesser used registrar and it is more work to transfer domain. IMO

Can we complain, and have Mara work on .co.in fees also?

I would imagine this also applies to .co.in :?

I am curently in negotiation on 3 of them but the min would not apply as they are in xxxx, so the 10% kicks in.

.co.in transfers are so easy, I have done registrar to registrar in just a few hours .

Anyway, the power of the people rules

Great news to the .in domain name owners, i wish they lower the min fees for all exts, the fees are way too high for low value sales

Yes, absolutely. And hopefully more extensions will follow soon.

wot (and Frank), I hadn't realized .CO.IN was not on the list until seeing your posts. I was so happy to see .IN, I just assumed they were both there. Surely it's the same thing, but I will contact them to make sure.

No credit to me. If anything the credit is the NamePros community together for bringing extra attention to it. Maybe now we can focus on some of the other extensions that remain lumped together in the "other" category.

They've seen for themselves now, there is no extra effort required from buyer, seller or broker, so it's the only logical thing for SEDO to do, cleaning up that category. Happy domainers list more domains. Plus it's the FAIR thing to do.

Yep, i totally agree. IF you need me to sign a petition or make a post let me know the place and i will do it. I support fair trade in my professional business so i can not see why the same can not be said of the domaining world.
