Importance of new TLD .gdn?

Hey guys.

Now when many new TLDs appears, one of them is .gdn
In Dynadot registrar this is cost just one dollar. But whats importance and popularity of this TLD between others?

Small story:
I am a normal internet user.
wow dog.gdn, such a nice website..I will visit that dog thing after 5 days.
After 5 days...Hmm it was dog.. I type.. dog.com..opps no.. dog.net ..no no it was new and cool.. dog.xyz... hmm noo.. let me remember.. dog.inc.... Let me take a memory pill.. still cant find.. Let me do some google and see what are the news dot coms then I will remember.. SEARCH-> RESULT--> Dizziness . closes computer.

You have no interest in a site you can't remember despite the extension, plain and simple...

found an article today on LinkedIn. there is a website for gdn marketplace www.domainname.gdn. Has anyone heard about it? I am going to check it out.

What are your thoughts on it? interested to know if this is a good move or is it better to just list names on flippa and sedo?

actually.GDN means global domain name . there , argument settled ,lol.

It may be based everywhere... nobody knows...
Dubai is just used as offshore...

.gdn is not an offshore company, they based in Dubai Internet City and office located next to Microsoft and Oracle.

When I see stats, only found XYZ has inflated their registration numbers overnight from 2.8 mil to 6 mil between dates 05/30/2016 - 06/02/2016, same time their USA registrations are 204,138 as today and 60% registration in China. In compare gdn holding 99,606 out of their 328K registrations, so if I m based in USA whom do you think I should vote?

Its exists because they had 300K+ registrations in less than one year of GA launch and still among top 15 TLDs

Most will be dropped soon as it is already done in other TLDs...

1- gdn registration has made 50% in China and 34% USA, whereas XYZ 60% in China and 7% in USA, what looks better to a USA resident?

a) Every new gtld been through with spamhaus
b) if gdn guys also inflate few hundred thousand registration same as xyz so they will also never appear in spamhaus (check out the Spamhaus arbitrariness systems )
c) #10 .us and #6 .top on the same list as well so do we consider they are spamming TLDs?

3- Who reported sale? does gdn report? The answer is NO - I sold personally 2 of my gdn domain in $XXXX to European company though I m also maintaining an inventory of xyz, site, website, top tlds but for some reason, I succeeded in breaking the deal for gdn domain names.

So as now I m happy with my gdn domain buying decision
