So... I'm mindlessly flipping stations in my car while doing 80 on Garden State Parkway and trying to think of a name for a new project. Out of the blue - that dumb "Drop it like it's hot, drop it like it's hot" song (Snoop?).
In the back of my head I'm thinking - if it's HOT, why whould one ever DROP IT???
I think I need a vacation. Or put together a "Top 10 songs that make no sense to a domainer" list.

lol Your story reminds me of how many times I put real-life events into perspective through a domaining lens.

For instance, how many times have you caught yourself saying in the past week:

Every time the Nissan-adventure.co.uk ad is on the TV!
Even if I'm not watching the TV, but it's on in the background, I always hear "nissan hyphen adventure dot co dot uk", I think hyphen???

Then I remember I already checked to see if the non-hyphenated name was available. It wasn't. lol

LOL - Me too, the funny thing is the non hyphen version WAS also available at the time but they decided to just get the hyphen one !

It sounds pretty silly on the TV when they read it out IMO

And isn't it somewhat frustrating trying to explain ANY of this to non-domainers? I was talking with a local VC group who calmly suggested I just register "NorthCarolina.com" to use as their domain name... right-e-o!

I had a client (two years ago) requesting to register (with straight face) "PBS.com". I had a hard time trying not to laugh. The most professional response I was able to come up with was "In my dreams!"

I thought about setting something like that up but I think I'm beyond help now! I can't be saved, I'm addicted for life!

Maybe we should start up a foundation to help the domainers of the future before they get addicted (remember kids, just say NO!)
