If you like the domain you have, and believe in it, IMO you should keep it, you will loose only the renew fees.
The best offer I have received through direct contact is for Booking and it was $18,000 but I have passed it then, it was before two years ago.

I don't know, the sale was through Afternic, you can't know who is the buyer.

Yes, true. We will see later then.

If I should guess, maybe Priceline is just protecting their brand. $15,000 is obviously peanuts for them.

the buyers are booking.com, they own bookings.io and booking.io

Ok, Priceline then... Not very surprising. Brand protection.

Awesome sales there. Hey can I ask you something. I was contacted by GoDaddy to verify a couple of my domains to list them on the Afternic Selling program. Can you guide me how this program works and do domains sell this way. I am totally new to this so wanted advice from people who use Afternic.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need Godaddy, just open account in Afternic and list your domains for sale there.
Thanks

I didn't think trademarked domains [if I'm not mistaken] were actually still sold at public auction?

Well done!

Booking is a generic dictionary word, trademark only comes into play if somebody starts using it to tread on the toes of the trademark holder by competing in their market or by branding in a way which may be misleading.

There are many words that are trademarked by multiple different parties, possible because they operate in different markets.

If somebody used booking.mobi to create a site for downloading ebooks via a mobile device..... that is completely different to building a tourism related site, which would then be a clear trademark infringement.

Thanks

You mention you had the domain listed on all three, I wasn't sure if I can do the same for mine. So as long as any of them are not in any auction, it's ok to list on multiple marketplaces?

Congrats on the sale btw. Well done
