The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
That's because booking.com is owned by Price Line Group. A Multi-billion dollar public company. (PCLN) So you might have been able to get a lot more money for them..

Amazing sale in an extension most of us have forgot..

Curious if you had received any significant offers on it before?
Many thanks guys fro all posts here.
Yes I have received 9 offers before for Booking and 2 offers for Bookings at SEDO, plus several offers for Booking through Flippa, and through direct emails.

that is alot of patient.
Care to share what motivated you to keep this name for a longtime?
Also what was the offer like? (for direct contact @ jamaltq
If you like the domain you have, and believe in it, IMO you should keep it, you will loose only the renew fees.
The best offer I have received through direct contact is for Booking and it was $18,000 but I have passed it then, it was before two years ago.

I didn't think trademarked domains [if I'm not mistaken] were actually still sold at public auction?

Well done!

Booking is a generic dictionary word, trademark only comes into play if somebody starts using it to tread on the toes of the trademark holder by competing in their market or by branding in a way which may be misleading.

There are many words that are trademarked by multiple different parties, possible because they operate in different markets.

If somebody used booking.mobi to create a site for downloading ebooks via a mobile device..... that is completely different to building a tourism related site, which would then be a clear trademark infringement.

Congratulations !!
Amazing sales for the .MOBI extension. Probably the only decent sales in MOBI recently.

Were they on Make Offer or you had them priced at BIN?

Wow, and here I am thinking .Mobi was dead... Congrats!

I'm curious about this sale because both Booking.Mobi and Bookings.Mobi redirect to a Flippa sales landing page. The whois does verify it's in afternic escrow, so my question is did you have it listed at Afternic but redirected to Flippa? Or is the redirection on the new buyers doing?

Thanks...

It still is dead.

Nice sale though.
I think the single word which fit with .mobi extention still ok, I have sold before several months Bollywood.mobi for $500.
I am still keeping another two domains waiting for end user: Tvs.mobi and Motel.mobi

I don't know, the sale was through Afternic, you can't know who is the buyer.

Yes, true. We will see later then.

If I should guess, maybe Priceline is just protecting their brand. $15,000 is obviously peanuts for them.
