I came across this statistic earlier today: Daily change - Domains Registered: 956,291 Domains Deleted: 1,167,104. (http://www.whois.sc/internet-statistics/)

There is more domains deleted than there is registered.

Can any domain wizard explain if this means that the domain industry is slowing down? I would suspect there to be more domains being registered then being deleted if it would be speeding up.

Not necessarily.

Domain industry has reached its peak, but don't worry, the domain registered and deleted should be +- abit of each other...

Until theres another boost.

It's called tasting. Deep pockets with access regging, testing traffic, and dumping in a few days if they don't seem like they will make a profit within a year. And while we thought this was something new I talked to guy on the phone last week who said he's been doing it for over a year and a half now. But now you are seeing others doing it aswell and in large numbers.

The domain industry could be going down. It is possible but its still very large. It is probably jsut a little down hill leading to a massive increase. Its also ahrder seeing as so many domains have been registered.
