GoDaddy charged my CC

I registered a domain in .de with "porn" in the domain.

I deleted it in november 2007 from my Godaddy account.

Today my cc was charged 9.95$ because apparently there is a new rule for .de domains concerning adult domains.

Is this right? Can I get my 9.95$ back?

Call up the billing department (my former work) at 480-505-8855

I imagine you should get this charge removed without too much problem. If they give you any trouble, just throw a little stink, ask to speak to a supervisor, and they will almost always remove the charge.

Often ccTLDs are renewed automatically, and the registrar then bills you accordingly, unless you provide prior notice you don't want to keep the name.

I had a .de name autorenew about 30 days before expiration. Didn't plan on renewing this as I was gonna drop. Emailed Godaddy & they said cancel the name & they'll refund, so I did. Received an email that it's been done. But it was only an account credit, not a refund to the c/c

So, you shouldn't have issues getting an account credit if you don't want the name.
