$3K to 4K to reseller, $6+ to end-user... combination of letters is not very desirable...
You could consider the X a "bad character", but I honestly like X's.
X
Xtra
Xtreme
Xchange
10 (Roman Numeral Ten which is easily distinguised as opposed to a number)
Christ
Xmas
X-rated (adult)
Too many great marketing words can be associated with it.
W and S are also great letters. (world/wide/web, sports/soccer/systems/site)
If you are seeing X as a bad letter, you are limiting yourself. Bad letters are more like K, F, J, Q, U and even these can be spun.
But in the end, if you require a certain letter or Domain that fits exactly (and WSX does), there is no way you can value it less than a domain with all good letters as they do not fit the niche, while this WSX is exactly what is required as the ultimate choice.
(IMHO)
I wouldn't think that the owner understands the value of the domain if it hasn't been updated and it just sits there. I am not saying to try to steal it, I am saying offer 2 to 5 grand to get it from him because it should be worth it as a great investment to the buyer. But I think it is worth a mininum of 10 grand. WebSiteXchange and a variety of other such hot industry names that would benefit from this 3 letter acronym dot com domain would see this name as premium real estate if it ever hit a drop auction.
And if it did go to auction I could easily see my way to paying 9 to 10 grand for it if I had it available because that name is worth at least that to me should I be liquid enough to invest in it at the time.
