Hi Guys

How much time do you spend each day on domaining?

At the moment, I spend about 45 minutes a day, this is mainly:
- Checking popular marketplaces to see what's selling.
- Giving appraisals.
- Reading articles to get domain ideas.

How about you?

Thanks

Hello,

I had days in which I spent 24 hours.
As a result of it now I have to spend only about 10 min. in average per day.

All the best

Mainly it depends on how much time available apart from my other projects.

Since domaining is quite addictive & it is fun and knowledgeable at the same time, it never bothered me spending a few hours in a day.

Usually 1-2 hours, spending in the same manner as you do, like reading domain discussion updates at namepros, tweeting on my concept vendor twitter id, and getting info on sold names and available domain names.

I work full time (which is a disadvantage because I know the competitors are able to put in more time than I can).

But I try to put in more time on the weekends. Daily could range from 3-4 hours per day. A bit more on the weekends of course. Lots of things could be done in this time but mainly
  • Answering email (potential sales, inquires) Make sure you take care of potential $ transactions FIRST before anything else in your worktime
  • Filtering domains (I usually use expireddomains.net)
  • Gathering a list of domains dropping for the next few days
  • Placing my orders for the next days drops
  • Doing the same as above for pre release domains
  • Looking into manually contacting owners for potential names I may want to acquire (think outside the box)
  • Listing/removing names from auction marketplaces
  • Updating my new blog (comments, posts, videos)
  • Reading up on the industry, watching helpful vids/tutorials
I probably missed a tad few things but that's usually the core of it. The hard, hard, hard thing is to be consistent. This goes with pretty much everything in life. You run into gems when you do this daily. It's hard work though, but it's kinda fun. B-)

Hope that helps.

I started domaining just as a hobby, never thought I could earn money from it. Now I earn about half of my full time job. I spend time in domaining while doing other things online, can't say exactly how many hours, probably 2 hours per day.
Salary in Romania it's a joke and I finished pharmacy! I hate my job lol.

Being 18 without a real job, I probably spend far too much time. Sometimes its a half hour, sometimes its 7 hours, it really depends on what I'm finding, and how motivated I feel. Although I'm not domaining the entire time I spend online, I'd say a good 60-70% of my online time is spent doing some kind of research. If I'm not doing that I'm probably working on one of my projects, one of which relates to this industry.
