Hello,
as I start to promo my domains online specifically my 4 and 5 "character domains it sure would be nice to get actual factual data like:

1.How many combinations or permutations can there be for 4L.com's and 5L.com's and 4N.com's and 5L.coms? And what will that number be if you add numbers with those letters and keeping it under 4 and 5 characters.
I know that this data is probably here on Namepros but for the life of me I can't find it at least for the 4L.com's and 4N.com's but I'm really curious about 5L.com's and 5N.com's.
The specific combinations I'm interested in is
NLNL.com's
NNLL.com's
LLNN.com's
LLLLL.com
LLLLLL.com
NNNNN.com
NNNNNN.com

2. I understand that 4L.com's and 4N.com's are CHIPS and that 5L.com's and 5N.com's including .NET's are strictly speculative. But even in this "speculative" market can you make decent money hand over first or have to bust your chops to get them sold?

Its very easy to find number of permutations:

LLLL = 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 = 456976
LLLLL = 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 = 11881376

Now for numbers

NNNN = 10 * 10 * 10 * 10 = 10000
NNNNN = 10 * 10 * 10 * 10 * 10 = 100000

Now for Characters: [Shortcut would be 36* 36 * 36 * 36 but below is breakdown]

LLLN = 26 * 26 * 26 * 10 = 175760
LLNL = 26 * 26 * 10 * 26 = 175760
LNLL = 26 * 10 * 26 * 26 = 175760
NLLL = 10 * 26 * 26 * 26 = 175760

Same way you can work out others:

LLNN, LNNN, NLLL etc etc etc :D

easy for you maybe! Thanks!

Thanks I needed this. This would be helpful to anyone who is "sales pitching" their domains to prospective buyers.

Thee NNNN.com 10,000 number seems a bit "light" I know that it was going to be rare but not that rare! are you sure? can anyone else on here confirm these numbers please? thanks I thought it was going to be a bit more complex than just that. I could have figured that out! just common sense! lol duh! Thanks!

Does anyone think that the permutations for LLLN and LLNL and LNLL and NLLL is "convincing" enough for Chinese domain buyers to consider buying these combinations?

I'd appreciate a follow up advise. Thanks.

0000 to 9999 = 10,000. That's why NNNN .com are still rare too. I like LLLN and LLNN for end user branding, but I think all will eventually rise in prices as more investors from many parts of the world come into the market.

" LLLL = 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 = (456976)
LLLLL = 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 * 26 = (11881376) "

What a difference one L character makes!.
I like the LLNN for the initial+NN factor. LLNN works well in other extensions too!
