How long 'til I can register a name on GD?

Hey guys,

There's a domain name I want that dropped earlier on this week. Every single whois service I have tried has said the domain is available and ready to register. EXCEPT GoDaddy! :|

This is getting annoying, I mean, the domain has been available for like over half a week now and GD isn't letting me register it.

I could register it here at NP using the NP$ registration system (which I test and it said it was available and wanted me to reg. it). But I'd rather go with GD for now since it's a domain I would like to securely have.

Does anyone know why on earth every. single. register. except. GoDaddy. would gladly let me register the domain name?

Thank you,
Frustrated Andy

i would register it at the first place possible as quick as possible then once u own it, then worrie about moving it to godaddy....but is it a IDN domain? i dont think godaddy supports those

Check the registrar that currently has it via their whois search. I've got a similar problem happening too. All other registrars say it's available pending delete, yet the the original registrar says it is paid through 2006. This has been going on for about 4 months now. I suspect registrars are becoming domainers. ;)

I agree, if it is a good name you want then register it with any of the MAJOR registrars. For a little hastle in setting up a new account it is worth it.

All the best.

Richard
PS
GoDaddy can be a bit slow at times, but I have found them to be pretty good .. they are the registrar that has the second number of domains in my portfolio.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! :)
It's not an IDN name though, it's a normal .com domain composed of English letters only. So I don't know what GoDaddy's problem is.

What is the cheapest, but best registrar that accepts Paypal; besides GoDaddy (since right now they're being a pain and not letting me register the domain)?

I'd register it at NP, but I don't think we can transfer domains (yet).

Hi Andy,

If you let me know the domain I'll try and few and just charge you whatever I pay, actually less what I get charged for processing charges and you can PayPal me the money.

Iam honest about this and willnot try to take the domain.

Wishing you all the best.

Richard
PS
Send me the domain in PM

Hey guys,

I thank each one of you for your help and offers, I've read all of the replies. But I thought I would finish off this topic - it turns out I can finally buy it off of GoDaddy. No idea what the glitch was, but the domain is mine now! B-)

Thank you guys,
Andy

Happens to me with newly dropped names too. I've started using Moniker.com because of the $6.85 deal they gave me.

Can you please be more specific here? I always wanted to use moniker, but for double the price of, say, DirectI, they weren't the best solution... I just want to keep my personal domains elsewhere from my customers' ones... Not much of them +- 10.

Thank you.

Mods, sorry for off-topic post.
