I was researching some background information today for a domain registration and came across a rather interesting article, I thought others might like to read it as well. It concerns the 'burnt in' or 'locked down' software in many gadgets including things like insulin pumps, pacemakers (which is what I was researching), to car breaking systems, smoke alarms, and a myriad of other devices controlled by software. The article is short but well worth a read IMO.

I do not think this is a new problem at all, but I think it is one that is often ignored or dismissed, something that is extremely worrying in todays world and should be remedied ASAP in my opinion.
