US is 40% of VR market.

No surprise for me. I seen some rough data on this a few weeks ago.

I am interested to hear what everyone thinks on this one thing...
Don't be shy, just add the comment to your other posts as you think about it.... Here it is...

A time prediction on when the '2nd public sale' of a VR/AR/MR name over 50k usd.
No we have not had the first yet to my knowledge but close.
IMHO
if those 1st 2 happen within the same 6 months time frame, it's a very positive sign.
I think they will be category killing generics that have much more upside to go.(investor sales)

yea... just another stupid poll...
This year ? Next year ? 2 years out ? MORE ? MY PREDICTION IS THIS YEAR 2017 !

My opinion it will be something like AugmentedReality dot com, brokers really seem to be pushing to find a buyer for that one, had another one contact me about it again 2 days ago.

Premium VR domains (VRCasino, VRGames, VRP*rn etc), are all on lockdown, asking prices of 6 figures+ i can’t see one of these going for big money anytime soon.

AR/MR if these domains ever go as high as VR domains, it will be a much longer wait in my opinion.

So yeah my money is on something like AugmentedReality dot com.

Time frame – Christmas 2017-Q1 2018.

I'll take one for the team though if someone wants to offer me $50k+ for one of my domains

great name
you do well to not sell this early into VR
it'll get you nice 5 figures eventually if not 6.......

I only have couple of fairly recent handregs with the keyword.. but am up to middish XXX .. more than once on the first one.. that one, I expect it to get me a nice 4 figures in years to come! no action on others yet.. but.. they're recent regs.. and its only the start of VR..

Ya know, I did forget about those.
Probably because I discount many of those gTLD sales as over speculation of investors. Because we have never seen a 'end user sale of gTLD's like that' to date to my knowledge.
Imagine what ROI you need to make that worth your while for risk. Time will tell I guess.
Mobile.me is a cctld and gtld's were not around then. And if anything, it has provided a means to take some 'punch' away from .com's as a alternative to the 'particular keywords'.

The market has to be very robust to achieve a better 6 figure .com sales with some track record numbers we do not have yet. Being search volume numbers and keyword advertising bids. IMHO It may take 2-5 years before we see a better 6 figure sales and I believe when those holders get a offer from investors at that 50k level, it will begin to weigh on them. Most of the current end-users have no need for the names and it will be some time before start-ups will find advantage of and be wealthy enough to afford such a thing.
About the only numbers we have now show the fact there are not enough VR/AR consumers yet.
And there may not be enough content for them. Probably make major headway on that over the next year.

Having Hand Reg'd 90% of my VR/AR names over 10 years and most all my drops/aftermarket buys have been achieved under $1k, I'm not sure I would wait the long term if a offer of that level would present itself.
You need to be greedy but I have my limits. I find a +1000x ROI very very attractive.
I'm not scared to leave money on the table. I do have other names of value. And not many of them would fit that cat killer variety.
A bird in the hand...
