The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Anyone wanna guess what apples VR product will be called ? (it is actually pseudo AR-/MR as well)

How about the AR product ?

Rumor has it 'Apple Glass' but I think they are more creative than that.
Will the holder of the spot-on domain know who is wanting it ?
Apple has learned it's lesson on getting any domains well before product announcements, so, they may already own it.

Sometimes we get early hints through USPTO or from name transfers to holding co's.

Anyway... take a guess !

Found it...

Can't look back at DNJ listings anymore for some reason.
Does not show here...

Apple or Investor ? My bet is investor. see yourself - http://iglasses.com/
Appear to be open for offers. That is not how you protect a potential brand.

In any case, I'm not sure apple is going to do the obvious this time.

Dont think its updated yet, I think thats the WHOIS of the seller still. (WHOIS last updated 2020-08-27)

Yea... I should have looked. It's not like me to not look.

So, i guess that keeps a question mark on it.

Still kinda curious of a potential name for the VR/MR HMD
I'm thinking it will be a 'apple' related name... like 'newton' ( I know they used that one some time ago)

I was wondering if Spectacle could be it as the .com sold for $100k, but just realised Snap have that name in use already.

I had reg'd a handfull of names typo'd for branding like spex variants and I think it is a good bet going forward. But I did let many of them drop.
No doubt in my mind there will be brands of that type in the future. But not until many more players are in the game. Could be some time yet.
ispex was reg'd in '03

If you have looked at the resent reported sales...
https://dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm
While nothing really great for our niche, it looks like a promising trend overall.
At least, I am encouraged by it.
And from my years of looking at these kind of charts, it normally serves as a precursor to the general overall economy. So, that makes it look all the better if it holds true this time as well.
We will see if it continues. Watch value and volume together.

Microsoft debuts its AR/VR meetings platform Mesh
https://techcrunch.com/2021/03/02/microsoft-debuts-its-ar-vr-meetings-platform-mesh/

As the article says, they seem to be much further ahead than current renditions.

Of course this is a concept video of what they hope is the end result.

I might note that we likely will be hearing from all the players soon as they try to remain relevant in everyone's mind as Apple take's the spotlight soon. But always these things generate more questions than answers.

Metaverse.io (not my sale) has sold for $175,000.

Amazing sale for virtual tech.

https://tldinvestors.com/2021/03/metaverse-io-is-the-first-reported-6-figure-io-sale.html

SO, I went looking, since I know a sale like that gets a lot of folks excited...
To see how many gTLD's were getting grabbed-up from the report...
Like always happens...
although it was a lot simpler in the old days when there were only a half dozen TLD's
And what should happen...
I bought a few metaverse gTLD's myself... Imagine that !

No big dreams... I'll be satisfied with a ROI of very minor stature.

One was .UNO... OR UNO was UNO LOL Just one of those weird gut feelings.

I still think we are a few years from smartglasses market really showing itself but I did just pick-up a few new ones.

smartglasses .pro & .one seem to make potential sense to me.
A recap of the latest Apple rumor mill... nothing new hear.

HTC Vive To Release ‘Next-Gen Standalone’ Headset In 2021, But Not A Quest Competitor

Once again, looks like it's for enterprise.

But this was really noteworthy !
