The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
The text below is my opinion and only my opinion... :sneaky:

I think we are also a few years away, as well. As much as I don't like Apple, I believe that once Apple gets in the game, then that will help. I own the Samsung S8 and was able to get the VR headset with it. I love it. I see it as the future, but we are not fully integrated yet with society.

When my kids are grown, maybe I'll upgrade to a better VR experience.

I wish I knew how to build apps for AR/MR/VR, but I'm not that kind of smart. ;) (Hell, I'm trying to find an old computer to make floppy disks for my avatar computer.)

Obviously I believe the industry needs more time before we can expect our domains to reach maximum sales profits. This is nothing new. Are you having another one of those moments when you're popping a vein by over thinking something super simplistic again?

I didn't realize it was so deep that I need to post links to my sources when the info is everywhere. Nothing you say here is an absolute truth so why expect my posts to be? Seriously now...do you want me to start asking for citations from all of your posts now? That wouldn't be very fun now would it @VRdommy?

Lighten it up around here will ya? Or are you too pedantic to read between the lines? :xf.laugh:
Lighten up Francis...

You were 'advising' everyone contrary to what I am personalty experiencing.
Which lead to the question of wondering if there was a reason for it. I would like to hear it.
There is no reason to get personal because you had no answer.
But, It Was Poor Advise IMHO. And I didn't want to say that without hearing your reasons.

Lots of announcements in advance of CES Jan 9-12

Most that have caught my eye are those that enhance the VR/AR experience from input devises like haptic gloves and unique controllers and several haptic suits.

But in my vision of the future, the previous post I had on VR on ATSC is the most profound for the market IMHO. But it has not really started yet so we have much more to see.

The floor space occupied by VR and AR start-ups has grown considerably this year.
Some of the other important advance press releases...

3D printed prescription lenses for Vuzix AR Glasses
http://www.3ders.org/articles/20180...rescription-lenses-for-vuzix-ar-headsets.html

High Speed Wireless for VR is still growing
https://news.thomasnet.com/fullstor...e-design-enhances-vr-user-experience-40008384

But all of it really shows a lot of money backing up the future of VR/AR experiences.
I find it very impressive anyway.

Is it advice to say that in my opinion maximum domain value won't occur until the markets mature "advice". You are asking me for citations online when you can just Google it yourself when market mature may happen.

Contrary to what you are experiencing?? Well I guess you're receiving 50k offers on your best domains right now, no?

Come on now lol...

My statements stand 'as written'.
But this seems to be your story, so you can tell it as you wish.

I've been sifting through a lot of news today.
But one thing standing out like a sore thumb with lots of later speculation was this story on HTC Vive.
The better company's do know how to play the media well and create anticipation for their goods.
But HTC has been teasing with the term RESOLUTION.
But you just have to read it to understand how far this plays. And it continues to change.
https://www.neowin.net/news/htc-teases-visual-upgrade-for-vive-vr-headset-at-ces

While I was going to be paying attention to them at CES anyway, I would say this was well played but not until they actually reveal whatever it is.
It's a big game to play and nobody likes disappointment so it must be substantial.

My story? What story? I think the market needs to mature. Google it if you don't believe me. It's not that deep...seriously :xf.rolleyes:

aesthetically speaking , XR looks just great.

XR does look great visually, as well as sounding natural. It's also the ultimate fit for smut. That could of course be a good or a bad thing for mainstream general adoption.

The question is how much need there will be for a catchall, at least consumer search wise.

As far as what time frame we are looking at for our VR names to have best value, I think it's wise to be cautious at this stage. It will be very interesting to see how well the standalone headsets do this year. VRDommy himself pointed out recently that VR is quite unique as a new tech in that it's difficult to experience fully before you buy, so optimistic comparisons with the growth trajectory of smartphones might be just that - optimistic.

4% of SteamVR users are now WMR users.
And more than a quick impressive market share, it shows a very fast and large search for content.
https://www.vrfocus.com/2018/01/4-o...ndows-mixed-reality-after-less-than-2-months/

I'm going to guess that they sold quite a few WMR HMD's over xmas since we should also assume that there were also plenty new users of Rift and Vive.
So a 4% share is a much bigger share in numbers than it was just 20 days ago.

Vuzix new AR Glasses now 'Alexa Enabled'
https://www.vrfocus.com/2018/01/vuzix-making-alexa-enabled-smart-glasses-to-debut-at-ces-2018/

I found it funny reading all the media on these the past few days in the 'comments' section.
It seems there are a lot of folks not wanting to call them 'AR'.
Seems they are expecting something more like VR or where full graphics are displayed.
These are more like Google Glass in that it is mostly a text overlay or HUD.
But I can see further argument over the naming of the tech, I think if they want to create a category for a semi-immersive version of AR, they should. Perhaps Cinematic Reality works and been used before or perhaps Cinematic AR.
Unfortunately, this may not go away so we will probably go through another term fight but unlikely to change the AR term as we know it. They just have to make 'classes' of AR. A sub-definition set.
Could be a names opportunity 'if' it happens.

Probably worth hanging on to even as a .net. It also has the 'mister' likeness that adds to it.
I too have but one. MRSmartGoggles and no great hopes for it...LOL
But if I were to buy any more, it would be on the hardware side, not content.
But I am sure there will be some MRcontent name sales.
