Thinking more deeply about the future of immersive gambling. My new prediction is that the overwhelming majority of VR gambling will be a failure.

I think that gambling will not take off in virtual reality as big as it will in AR, with the exception of a couple of Second life style, social casinos that are fully immersive with avatars walking around. Then it's more about social than gambling.

Otherwise I think more gambling will take place in AR. Some casino games are not social and would be over kill to make fully immersive in VR, like slots. Why would anyone want VR slots and have their vision of real life blocked by a jungle or whatever made up background? Similar goes for poker and roulette. It could be that VR Gambling could be eventually seen as a pointless gimmick.

If a game's basic point won't benefit from it being fully immersive, people MAY find it unnecessary and a distraction from what they really came for. And mayl prefer AR over being essentially blindfolded with screens strapped to their faces, preventing getting them from doing other things while gambling, the same way they would now. If a new way of doing something doesn't make things easier and it's not a convenience... it could be a complete failure.

A VR casino that looks like any regular casino would suck for sure.

But a VR casino can look like anything you can imagine. Slot machines could be made to look like giant scyscrapers of fire and neon and fireworks. You could be surrounded by naked chicks dancing. Every time you hit the jackpot you could be tossed 500 meters up in the air.

Gambling is all about firing up that reward center in the brain. The companies building casino games have neuro scientists working to make them as addictive as possible. If you give them the limitless possibilities of VR they can go wild with that stuff.

Watching the evening TV news, I seen eSports getting recognized large.
So I started digging deeper just to see what was new. I had not give it much thought as of late.
This sums it up...
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gamers-cash-in-and-go-pro-in-booming-world-of-esports-overwatch-league/

https://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Global/Issues/2018/01/17/Finance/MTS.aspx

https://www.dexerto.com/news/nelson-announces-no-longer-playing-rocket-esports-team-disbands/42471

anyone know who streams these championships now ?

But this did prompt me to look over my short list again...
So for my 3rd hand reg of the year.... eSportsHolodeck

If this ends up getting run as one or two franchises like the NFL, we won't have much need for names.
But on the odd chance it has many, it is worth a few chance bets.

Well I have got XReSports (.com)

It's got XR in it so surely will appeal to you more

Not posted in a while but hope 2018 brings lots of positive news regarding these emerging techs (y)

The only domain I own that has "z" at the end is VRCasinoz dot com.
Yea... I do not do that often. I have my share of them.
Mainly just where I see a large market where someone is likely to want a TM Brandable.
No great hopes for any. But if the market for it's category expands, they have a shot.
I consider them 'light alternatives' when they are short.

ArP@[email protected] sold

I am very proud that Pb Web Media Company has purchased this premium Ar adult domain. After emailing me with an initial offer to purchase this premium adult ar dot com. Negotiations went back and forth finally we agreed on a price.

The deal has come with a strict privacy agreement that the sale price must not be published in any form so i am not aloud to dis close the sale price but i am very very happy with the price that was achieved .

This is a great start for AR names and especially ar adult names too .

Also i would like to thank two of my mates who are always there @Elad n @NamePov

Congrats mate.

Nothing more than you deserve (y)

You have been collecting these tech names for a very long time and got in pretty early on some of the realities.

Shame the buyer put in a non disclosure but I know people would have been shocked with the deal you pulled off.

Fair play Mister XR (or is Mister AR now:ROFL:)

They run a huge network of adult sites. Maybe they are in the hunt for other AR names and don't want to inflate prices? We can only hope :D

It appears that a shorter similar name minus a 'o' at the end also changed hands today.
I shall assume the same buyer.
And that makes availability shorter. And lessor names just got a jump on value as/when demand goes up.
