I have 2 .de domains at name.com. They expire on Nov 4 and 5. I was told that .de domains must be renewed 2 months before expiration. Since name.com charges $25 for .de renewals, I initiated a transfer of both names to Moniker on Aug 25, which I thought would get them safely transferred/renewed in plenty of time.
I was wrong.
On Sept 2 I noticed the transfers were still pending and queried my Moniker rep. I was told I needed to take it up with name.com, which I did. The guys there were responsive but admitted knowing very little about .de domain transfers/renewals. The registry hasn't responded to their queries and they didn't know why the registry had not approved the transfers.
To be safe I tried to renew the domains at name.com on the 3rd but got this message:
ERROR: We were unable to process the items in your order.
The guys at name.com aren't sure why the renewal failed and are still waiting to hear back from the registry. So... if anybody here has any idea what's happening here or what to do about it, I am eager to hear it.
