Do you think there should be anything done from NP's side? I thought this forum had a tough policy on scammers, and although no one wants to admit that she would do this, its basically what she did. DomainOgre said he had paid her NP$ for the hosting, will he get that back? It would be one thing if she just disappeared all together but based on the facts I gathered, she is purposely avoiding us all so she doesn't have to face the consequences. One could argue that she has a good track record so she would need a chance to explain herself, but she could have done that on the phone instead of hanging up on me. Or she could've checked her email or taken 5 seconds to notify us of what was happening. She knew exactly what she was doing - she even took her domain off the hosting and parked it - who would do that unless they knew something was going to happen with their host (and that should be proof right there that nothing spectacularly bad happened to her if she had the time to park her domain), of course I don't know how long the domain has been parked, but the point is this was not some freak accident. She screwed many of us over, regardless of it being "just hosting for NP$" or whatever kind of deal she may have worked out.

Do something about it... she shouldn't get special treatment just because she's been around longer and contributed more than new members. I'll even admit I gave her the benefit of the doubt... for about 3 days until I realized she screwed me over.

So what are you complaining about? That your free ride is over? If anything, you owe for all the months of free hosting you've already received. Get over it, find another host and go on with your life. Just my $.02.

So then maybe that should have been a sign that something was going to happen - she couldn't even manage it enough to see who was paying her? I talked to her on AIM all the time, she helped with issues all the time, so apparently it was not a big enough of a deal to her...

I got the NP$ back that I paid Friday :).

I also got a new reseller that appears to fit all my needs. Sure, I would like to get my sites back, but I am moving on until she decides to come back. There is nothing we can do without her right?

Will I do business with her again? No.
Will I pursue this matter futher? No, because I don't see how to. You might can try to get her banned from here, but that appears to be all you can do since she is not a company but a minor.
Will I talk to her when she comes back? Yes, she at least owes us an explanation of what was more important than our websites (i.e. time and money).

That's true. If you saw it as a sign of things to come, a back up plan (as well as a back up of your sites) should have been the first order of business. Getting a service for free for several months then complaining about when it finally stops just seems....wrong.

Glad to hear you got something back Ogre.

yeah i totally agree with caveman...when she was giving you the free hosting did you take time to write a long thread to thank her??

did you email her ' please let me pay you"?? or did you conviently kept quiet for three months D-:

did she chase you for your money??

and now shes just a few days late and you are bringing hell down... D-:

i thinks thats pretty inconsiderate

Both parties are wrong in my view. Cassandra totally lack responsibilty and the_equivocate, you should have been honest about your free hosting. No one will want to do business with someone who is not responsible with her business and her clients, IMHO. That's a bad thing to know since it is one of our fellow np'ers who has been around for awhile. Bad bad.

Do something, like ban her? Already the case against her is very public here on the forum. You're also welcome to leave a negative feedback if you feel its been earned. Still the fact is we don't know what is going on with Cassandra. Are there extenuating circumstances? Would it matter?

If she returns, she'll have to answer to you and other customers. Banning her at this point would only be cutting off a possible line of communication.

yep! RJ is a wise mod! banning doesnt solve the problem. she/he needs to be able to return and answer to the issue whatever the reasons *<|

And an even wiser site owner. ;)

I agree with RJ, it would only cause more problems and possibly not get the issue resolved to a greater extent.

I doubt that the person in question intentionally set out to scam anyone.I suspect their young age, lack of business skills and experience are to blame.Let's be realistic-Would you trust your business and online presence in the hands of a teenager....I certainly wouldn't.The old saying "you get what you pay for" applies here.Like anything else,it's buyer beware.
Chalk it up to a learning experience and move on.

Indeed, trusting a minor with your online assets is risky. But until you know exactly has happened, you can't draw acurate conclusions. What if she's ill? Anyone thought of that?
What if, for example, she got run over by a car?
I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think we've pretty much ruled out that something horrible happened to her:
- Her hosting domain is now parked (meaning she knew what was going to go down)
- Hung up on me when I called (knew she did it, didn't want to face it)
- Not replying to emails
- BensonTwenty was helping; he's gone too.

I for one got everything that I paid for from her and even more. I've read the posts and realize that there is a problem, and would hope that she will eventually square up with everybody. Until then, give it a rest.

RJ is right. And, not just because he's the big cheese here.
