First off, I'm pretty sure this is the wrong section, but I don't know of the right section. So, mods, if necessary, please move this thread!

Now, I am a network admin and manager at a relatively small company. Someone from the company came to me this morning and asked if I could create her friend a website, for her company. It will be known as "Cement Company" from now on, in this post. Owner of Cement Company wants an ecommerce site, along with a CMS for product information. They need a custom design, I'm not sure on the logo yet, they may or may not have one.

I'm not sure what to charge, as this isn't my normal line of work, if I build a site, it is either for me, or for resellers, I haven't worked with end users much before.

Here is a rough list of what I need to do:

Design, Stock, and Install an eCommerce solution
Design and Stock a CMS
Charge for Hosting/Domain
Possibly a static website, and logo, fliers, brochures, and letterhead.

So, what would you charge an end user for this. I will be giving a discount, because I am good friends with the woman from my work, and I don't feel right charging her friend top dollar, but she is an end user.

Thanks!

Ryan

Id say charge a flat rate per hour..

$10-15, and maybe a $200-300 Charge.

Just my suggestion, but i think that if it is the right end user, you might be able to chrge twice that.

Hmm i'd say work for $12 per hour, and charge around 150-200$ - it really depends on what the fully package is ;) good luck

depends on the scale of the company we are talking abt and their balance sheet figures

for example, if they are something like microsoft then i am going to charge about mid-XXXX. if they are medium scale then low-XXXX. if small scale then much lower

You can charge around $400 including discount.. I do this sorts of work from end users. and my charges are more.. and you are talking about e-commerce which means it costs more. So, $400 is cheap enough from end user client.
