Since I see a lot of negative experiences on here with GoDaddy, I thought I will post my positive experience as well.
I am Dutch so I also invest in .nl names for quick flips. Dutch people tend to use local registrars, but luckily there is no 60 day lock on .nl names so quick flipping is possible.
I normally reg at a local registrar but since godaddy was a bit cheaper I regged a few there. When I sold the domains (for prices not worth mentioning) I saw to my amazement that the .nl domains were also under a 60 day lock. This wasnt good as I received payment already and didnt want a negative review.
I went on the support chat who said the lock is for all newly regged domains. I said it wasnt mandatory for .nl names and they advised me to email [email protected], so I did.
Within 12 hours, I got an email back that the locks were removed from the mentioned domains and I can transfer out. Great service and very fast action.
You can look at the negative side and say: why is the lock there?
I choose to look at the positive side and say they corrected this very fast and I am happy. A 12 hour turnaround was much better than I expected! I also didnt expect it to be solved so easily!
Lesson learned:
always check if a domain is under lock, also when you think there is no reason for a lock
